Square One Bavarian Weizen

Draught at Square One. Pours hazy light yellow with a small, fizzy, white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (hay, straw), light hops (flowers, grass, lemon), average yeast (barnyard, earth) with notes of banana and clove. Medium bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Draught at Square One brewpub. Unfiltered yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of banana and clove. Taste of banana, clove, lemon and spice. A light fruity hop finish, decent hefewiezen.

On tap at the brewery, hazy amber-orangeish hue, with a small white head, yeasty, mild fruity bananaish nose, with kind of bad detergent smell, hint of malt toastiness, no spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, acidic character of fieldberries, but mainly tart raspberries, with a subtle clove spicy accent, a faint toasty malt note, leading towards a fruity acidic finish.

Rating 1069, On tap at the brewery. Hazy golden cloudy with a medium sized long lasting white head. Nose was sweet with malts, sugars and bannana skins. Taste with a great maltyness, cream and yeast through and through. A bit thin, especialy where the alcohol meets the malts. But still drinkable and pleasant. Better as it warms up.

On tap at Square One. Poured a healthy deeper golden with a well-retained creamy cap of off-white head. The nose found sweet toasty banana, caramel, and a pinch of lemon.. quite pleasant. Huge toasted banana and bubblegum at the flavor core with tart wheaty notes going outward.. left a rather long, dusty, semi-sweet finish that was a bit grainy.. better on the front half of the drink. Nice carbonation with a creamy middle.. tailed off into graininess there at the end.
