red éric (1376), montréal, Quebec, Canada Apr 17, 2008 On tap at the brewery, slightly cloudy gold hue with a ring of white head, weak pale malt and floral hop nose, with some hint of citrus fruits in the aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate with a crip, faint sweet pale malt character, with a subtle flowery hop citrusy accent, leading towards a zesty, mellow lingering hop biterness finish. Truly a beer for the noninitiated to the world of tasty beer. SubstanceT (1087), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Nov 4, 2007 Rating 1073, on tap at the brewery. Poured a light colored yellow with a fair ammount of carbonation. Skinny in nose and in taste. Hops just a bit as compared to their pilsner and more malty in character than their other brews. Pleasant to drink and really more palatable for those that like the american standards than their pilsner. Just a suggestion. Ughsmash (2814), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 30, 2007 On tap at Square One. Poured clear bright golden with a short cap of white head. Aroma was light with bready and pale malt notes.. bit of cardboard and a mild sweetness to it, too. Flavor was light again with pale malts and mild grainy bitterness (floral if there was any flavor to it).. not much going on. Light-bodied and tacky on the palate at all points.. left a chalky feel at the finish.. medium carbonation. Dogbrick (2165), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 29, 2007 Sample at the brewpub: As with most brewpubs, this is the "gateway" beer to the world of craft beer. Why this selection is almost always a Blond/Light I’m not sure, since most brewpubs tend to be afraid to put too much flavor in it lest it scare away potential customers. This beer is a clear yellow-gold color with tiny bubbles and a compact white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Spotty lacing. Light, effervescent body with mild hops and clean malt flavors. The finish is lightly hopped and short. Standard stuff overall. sneagrams3 (1342), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 30, 2006 On tap from the Brew Pub. Slightly musty, citrus, sugar nose. Filtered and golden. Good amount of body for a light ale. Sweet, mild caramel malt note. Citrus, off-dry hop nose. Lively and smooth. Light and tasty. Crossover beer, definitely! Good summer drinking in the Lou, defintely!
