sneagrams3 (1388), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 19, 2007 Sampled from the brewpub. Filtered and amber hued. Webbed off-white head. Grainy orange aromas with a touch of cinnamon. Mildly bright with doughy malt notes. Medium bodied with mild effervescence. Touch of zesty citrus flavor. Unlike the last rater, Eric, I enjoyed this brew. Solid session and good for the style. Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA May 11, 2006 tap at brewpub-unlike the last rater, i found this beer to be nothing like the style and not a very good beer. copper amber with a small white head. big sweet grainy nose with some dark fruit (plums). not really what i was expecting in a maibock. flavors are all over the place-grain husks, dirty/dusty yeast notes, with no balance to say the least. body is fairly thick and sticky. rough and needs some work. rdawson321 (145), USA Apr 25, 2006 By far the best beer I sampled at the brewery. Pours an orange/red, with a fruity nose and a bittersweet finish. Exceptionally smooth with a good, but not excessive, amount of carbonation. When revisiting the brewpub, I’ll definitely order this again.
