3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample #4 from the brew pub. Tasted 10/14. Deep amber hue. Minimal head. Sweet, sweet malty goodness. Toffee and candy sugar. All malts! Finish is slightly cloying. Medium bodied with a slight little alcohol burn. Warming and delicious. Favorite of the day!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery
Copper brown with a medium sized short lasting tan head. The nose is sweet, lots of sugar with strong malts. The taste is just about the same more malts but strong with sweetness and sugar with lots and lots of syrup of prune juice. A good scotch ale.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a reddish brown with a thin off brown head. Not much aroma aside from some sweetness. Flavor is full of dried fruit, raisins and prunes primarily, some licorice notes as well. No info on alcohol, but I’m thinking it’s around 6-6.5%. Having been one for 18 years, I detected some homebrew character in there as well. Really good stuff.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(draught) Deep brown with hints of red. A thin film of a head but nice lace. Sweetish malt aroma. Flavor was also sweet malt, almost a bit syrupy, and a hint of whiskey in the finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tape at brewpub - Clear dark brown pour with a soapy head. Caramel malt on the nose. Medium bodied, but a bit lighter body than most scotch ales. Along with the normal caramel with scotch ales there is some bubblegum sweetness to the taste. A tingle from the carbonation come in then toasted malts and some light spicy hops in the background. There is a bit of a citric feel to the finish. There is also a bit of smokiness to the taste. Not my favoritee scotch ale, but it is an interesting interpretation of the style.
