COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our single malt Scotch Ale is truly a big beer! We use one variety of malt, a portion of which was smoked at our brewery. It has a rich caramel and toffee fullness, balanced by a mild hop bitterness.

Draught@HBF2009. Ruby red color, small off-white head. Very, very toffeish aroma. Toffee, sour milk, fudge in the flavor. Tiny hops in the aftertaste. Probably quite close to Scotch ale, but not something I would like to drink in large quantities.

On tap @ Square One. Rich amber pour with a white head. Sweet caramel malt, some berry, raisin, and candied apple. A lot of sugary sweetness. Not much hop character. Flavor is just all sweet caramel, brown sugar, and toffee. A bit of toast, honey, and a slight fruity tang. Really one note.

Draught at Square One. Pours clear tawny with a small, fizzy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), light hops (flowers), average yeast (earth) with notes of light alcohol and honey. Medium bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Sheep farm aroma. Rich red, small head. Massively milky sweet maltiness, some grains, toffee ice cream (spotted by Alex, thanks, and so obvious in retrospect). Adequate, but not grabbing me.

Tap @ Square One. Pours a dark orangish brown appearance with a disappearing white head. Caramel, toasted malty, herbal, a bit smoky aroma. Fairly herbal, smoked, burnt caramel, a bit earthy flavor. Really just not my style, but I had a hard time drinking it.

Draft… RBSG 2014This beer rocks!… Pours mostly clear and ruby with a small, creamy, off-white head that sticks around a good while. The bouquet is a wonderfully malty assortment of toffee, caramel and oak with a suggestion of smoked malt and a rumor of butterscotch. Medium to full-bodied with stinging carbonation. The flavor is loaded with toffee and caramel sweetness, but countered by a equal ration of woody and tannic bitterness. Malty and delicious, but balanced, so anyone can drink it. Finishes pleasantly bitter and tongue-numbing. Fun, world class stuff!

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 18/09/2010 Malt aroma. Bronze coloured a little rich and sweet on the palate with a hint of bitterness in a dry malt finish.
