3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting, thanks to Jan. It pours darkest brown (near black) with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, dark fruit, bourbon, vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. The taste is rich-roasted malt, charcoal, espresso coffee, oak, vanilla, toasted coconut, chocolate and warming alcohol with a dry, toasty finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome, smooth and well-balanced. Tasty.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from dallas, thanks man! Very dark brown pour, quickly fading lacing. Barrel presence is quite forward, lots of caramel, booze, brown sugar. Taste is sorta muddled, with the base beer trying to peek through but being blasted back by the barrel. Finishes slightly thin. I really enjoy the base beer, and feel that this one could have benefited by letting it shine through a bit more. Not bad by any means, but nothing mind blowing here.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is cool, but it is much, much, much more harsh than the non BA version of this beer. Nose is whiskey, taste is whiskey and much of the outer darkness is gone. Good, but not something i need more than a taste of!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by CLevar! Rich dark black pour, almost no carbonation and an aroma of bourbon and dark chocolate. Flavor is nice meld of peat, a little chocolate & sweet vanilla and bourbon mellowing it all the way through. Really enjoyable!

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Acquired in a trade a while back. One of my lowest ABV stouts in the cellar so I figured a 750 by myself isnít too bad. Enjoyed at 60F in my HFS glass.
A - Poured a midnight viscous black. a 1 finger coffee head was produced and faded to just a thin line of creamy bubbles.
S - The nose is pretty weak. I get some hints of vanilla and smoke. Thereís a slight bourbon character but mostly, it smells more like a porter than a stout. Very weak nose.
T - Up front, roasted dark malts, chocolate and booze. The middle is a thick oak and bourbon rush. Finish is all coffee with hints of licorice and pepper.
M - Heavy body but light carbonation. Sort of creamy like frothed milk.
O - Maybe this beer has started to fall off? Hard to tell. Itís great. Not nearly a year old yet but it just doesnít have that oomph I expected.

Pours pitch black with ruby hues...medium creamy dark mocha head. Aroma has coconut, vanilla, light coconut and roastiness...faint dark fruit. Flaovr has nice bold roastiness and subtle dark fruit, very light whiskey, oaky whiskey vanilla creeping in. Mouthfeel is creamy and the finish warms with roasty oak. Wow.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by blackshawn. Pours dangerous, iíd definitely cross the street if I saw this beer walking towards me. Milky nose hinting of whiskey secrets, maybe a touch of malt, like malted milkshakes malt, that kind of malt. Maybe even a tad smokey in the nose too or maybe thatís the cigarette Iím smoking while I rate this beer. Full bodied stout with whiskey notes making theirselves at home in every crevace (thatís not spelled right, I know) of my mouth. Its actually an artifully crafted whiskey barrel stout...its not even boozy, its just flowing with whiskey flavors straight the fuck up.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a jet black with just a trace of a dark tan head. Aromas of liquorish, roastyness, whiskey. Taste is a dry conglomeration of whiskey notes, cocoa, liquorish, roasted malt and just a hint of bitterness. I donít feel as though the barrel plays a huge role here, but then again I havenít had the base beer. Just a tad of alcohol detected - not overly hot but just enough to let you know itís there. This is a solid beer.
