Bottle from a trade with Gription79. Pours black with ruby highlights and a thin brown head. Aromas of whisky, chocolate, roasted malts and a little booze. Similar flavors with some vanilla and oak. Full body with minimal carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Excellent! Thanks Dallas.

Pours pitch black with ruby hues...medium creamy dark mocha head. Aroma has coconut, vanilla, light coconut and roastiness...faint dark fruit. Flaovr has nice bold roastiness and subtle dark fruit, very light whiskey, oaky whiskey vanilla creeping in. Mouthfeel is creamy and the finish warms with roasty oak. Wow.

750ml bottle. Black pour with a brown head. Aromas of roast, wood, coffee, earth, licorice, sine vanilla, and some dark fruits. Tastes of chocolate, roast, vanilla, whiskey, dark fruits, and coffee. Some alcohol in the finish but overall nicely hidden.

Bottle shared by blackshawn. Pours dangerous, iíd definitely cross the street if I saw this beer walking towards me. Milky nose hinting of whiskey secrets, maybe a touch of malt, like malted milkshakes malt, that kind of malt. Maybe even a tad smokey in the nose too or maybe thatís the cigarette Iím smoking while I rate this beer. Full bodied stout with whiskey notes making theirselves at home in every crevace (thatís not spelled right, I know) of my mouth. Its actually an artifully crafted whiskey barrel stout...its not even boozy, its just flowing with whiskey flavors straight the fuck up.

Pours a jet black with just a trace of a dark tan head. Aromas of liquorish, roastyness, whiskey. Taste is a dry conglomeration of whiskey notes, cocoa, liquorish, roasted malt and just a hint of bitterness. I donít feel as though the barrel plays a huge role here, but then again I havenít had the base beer. Just a tad of alcohol detected - not overly hot but just enough to let you know itís there. This is a solid beer.

Thanks to PaulUnwin for the share! Cheers, Paul! Pours a pitch black with a tan head. Nose is roast, dark chocolate, black coffee, slight smoke, and slight earth, with a small hint of wood. Flavor is similar with coffee and dark chocolate up front and some smoke and earth behind it. I am not sure of the contact time, but I do not get a lot of barrel from the beer. Medium in body and lingering earth and roast in the finish.

bomber from schiller 1/22/12. dark orange black with a teenie head. the aroma is very full of soapy rye!....followed by licorice, coffee, brown sugar, spicy hops, roast and dark blackness... the flavor has tons of rye in it as well...the palate is sweet yet dry and delicious...added notes of vanilla, chocolate and a nice bitterness on the finish. lingering aftertaste of rye whiskey and coffee. it is full bodied but not sticky...actually quite dry. nice. 8/4/8/5/17+

Bottle from the generous Scott - thanks! Black pour with a dark, expresso tan head. Aroma is dry whiskey, clean roasted malt, light bitter chocolate and coffee, and some lurking darker fruit notes but very clean. Taste is whiskey up front followed by chocolate, roast, a slight bite of alcohol, some darker raisin notes, and lingering whiskey. Mouthfeel creamy and airy. Exceptionally well made and impressive. Glad to have enjoyed this one!

Aroma is really quite nice. Rich dark chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla, rye. Taste is a bit heavy on the whiskey. A bourbon treatment would have been more welcome here as this whisky seems a bit harsh. Otherwise the flavors are great.
