Aroma is really quite nice. Rich dark chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla, rye. Taste is a bit heavy on the whiskey. A bourbon treatment would have been more welcome here as this whisky seems a bit harsh. Otherwise the flavors are great.

Tihs poured a darker brown with a tan head. Aroma was dark burnt chocolate, rye whiskey, and some some alcohol. Was not a huge fan of this at first taste, but then it really grew on my. The burnt malt with the rye whiskey really made this and interesting spicey bitter beer. Alcohol was a little hot but a very interesting and different impy.

Bottle from Dallas! Pours inky black with a dark, roast coffee head. Aroma has wood, cinnamon, vanilla, coconut, fudge. Taste is semi-sweet with some roast and smoke. Full bodied and somewhat sticky. Nicely balanced beer. Great job!

Bottle courtesy of Gription79. Aroma: lots of chocolate, nice mellow whiskey notes, coffee and roast malts, a touch of sweetness. Appearance: pours jet black, about a half inch of brown head with surprising retention, leaves some lacing. Flavor: big chocolate and coffee up front, caramel and toffee, moderately high bitterness and roast character, some spicy whiskey. Palate: full body and light-medium carbonation. Very smooth/silky on the palate, almost along the lines of a nitro stout. Overall: a really fantastic stout, happy I got to try this.

750ml bottle from Alen. Dark brown with a nice mocha/brown head that reappears upon a nice swirl of the glass. Whiskey, light oak, vegetables, roasted malts. Still a little hot, moderate body and carbonation, somewhat sweet with a bitter bite probably more from the alcohol then anything else, long tasty whiskey and stout finish.

(trade w/douglas88) - Dense dark brown head. Dark black body. Aroma of bitter cocoa and dark brown sugar. Thick mouthfeel. Flavors of brown sugar and molasses. Light vanilla and toasted coconut from the barrel aging. A slight warming in the throat. A very nice Imperial Stout. Will be added to my "Trade for again" list!

Bottle thanks to mar. Pours with a black hued body with a small tan head. Completely glass coating. Aromas are strongly of roasted malt, nutty, dry, vanillin, leather, light whiskey. Flavors are leathery, vanillin, nutty, smokey, alcohol. Good barrel, layered flavors, nutty malt character. Medium bubbles, some tannin at the end. Finishes somewhat dry for a beer of this size.
