3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from dallas, thanks man! Very dark brown pour, quickly fading lacing. Barrel presence is quite forward, lots of caramel, booze, brown sugar. Taste is sorta muddled, with the base beer trying to peek through but being blasted back by the barrel. Finishes slightly thin. I really enjoy the base beer, and feel that this one could have benefited by letting it shine through a bit more. Not bad by any means, but nothing mind blowing here.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750mL bottle. Poured inky black with a rich brown head. The aroma picked up sweet whiskey, burnt cocoa, and just a touch of hazelnut.. coconut and lightly-smoked malts plus peppery warmth on the back of the nose.. very nice. The flavor found burnt black and cocoa malts at the core, with vanilla, coconut, and sweet and peppery bourbon laced throughout.. spicy and roasty on the back end and through the finish along with a nice kiss of bourbon. Heavy-bodied and roasty on the palate with quite a bit of cocoa/coffee bitterness.. warm, but never overly so.. this was great stuff!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Traded 75cl bottle aged at least a year or more. Pours out like used motor oil but it also has a nice milk chocolate-like head. Very thick lacing. Milk chocolate aroma that seems mixed with cherry cordials. Big flavor without being overpowering. Reminds me of dark chocolate baking powder. Just a little booze lingering in the finish. Pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle in KC @ JetsonFest III. Thanks jcnielsen / Justin! Pours a black appearance with a dark brown head. Sort of floral/soapy, dark chocolate, anise, somewhat roasty aroma. A bit tingy, somewhat boozy, chocolate, straw/chewy herbal, potpourri, whiskey flavor with quite a bit of booze on the finish. Not as good as I was hoping for.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2013 750ml bottle, via trade, aged for about a year. pours a dense, hazy, black that sits opaque in the glass capped by a thin, dark mocha head that leaves oily rings of lace on the glass. aroma is excellent, pretty unique, with heavy roasted malts, fresh liquorice, baker’s chocolate, and graham crackers backed by toasted rye bread, subtle whiskey, molasses, and hints of ash. flavor is excellent as well with rich dark fruit notes of prunes, figs, and merlot backed by sweet toffee, chocolate malts, and rye toast with honey followed by smooth, spicy, rye whiskey notes on the finish. palate is on the richer end of medium bodied with light carbonation and a lingering, warming finish. this actualy reminds me a bit of Berserker which is never a bad thing. overall, a damn nice barrel aged imperial stout.
