Like summer in a bottle, Bumper Crop starts with the gentle aromas of freshly gathered lavender and features local honey for a soft, slightly sweet finish. At 5.5% ALC/VOL, it simply tastes bee-yootiful.

This isn’t a stellar beer, but I bet on a hot day this would be great. Pours a copper color. Faint hint of honey and floral. Doesn’t smell like lavender (luckily) to me. Tastes like a wheat beer with a back end that is honey, but has a buttery feel to me. The finish is watery. There is a floral mouthfeel/aftertaste. Initial drink...did not like. As I drank more, I ended up improving my feeling for it. I could see me drinking this - but on a hotter day.

An okay, mild ale. The honied sweetness is the defining feature, it has a slightly unbalanced finish with next to no lavender character.

Sampled at Northgate Andover beer tasting. Not much lavender, but more of a honey caramel all-around. Not exciting.

This is a good drinkable ale, didn’t really notice the lavender in the brew, just a hint of honey really liked this one.

12oz picked up at Whole Foods.. Pours a slightly hazy golden brew... Thin white head with no lacing or cap. Strong honey essence works well with the earthy lavender... Odd, but still interesting. The herbaceous lavender never comes off like the flowers, instead like you are rubbing your hands on the leaves.. The honey is fermented out but retains a good presence with residual maltiness.. Okay... I dig the overall beer no doubt, but I doubt I will buy it unless I am brewing a lavender beer. No real qualms, but it is definitely a niche beer.

12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Watford. Appearance: film white head, golden color, lightly cloudy, light to no lacing. Aroma: mostly spicy coriander, orange, wheat, maybe light notes of honey, but very hard to detect. Palate: light body, average carbonation, light bitter finish, slightly sticky texture with light spice notes. Taste: sweet wheat with lots of coriander spice and orange citrus, finish is light honey sweetness. Overall, very smooth, very good, honey balances out everything else, very good beer!

Squatters Bumper Crop Honey Ale has a thin-to-medium, quickly-dissipating, white head, minimal lacing left on the glass, and a mostly clear, amber (honey) appearance. The aroma is of various herbs and wildflowers, with background malt, and the flavor is of those elements, riding alongside honey and sweetness. Hop bitterness is quite low. Mouthfeel is medium, and Squatters Bumper Crop Honey Ale finishes crisp and drinkable. RJT
