A medium bodied, copper colored ale brewed with pale and caramel malt. Emigration has great balance between malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness.

on tap slc 7/22/10. coppery amber color with a whitish head and random spots of lace. lots of citrus on the nose... meat and pith combined with florals (a lot of them!), mild pine and caramel. the palate is quite malty and a touch sweeter than iíd ideally like since the hops are more floral than bitter. the flavor matches the aroma (with the exception of the added sugar) but also has a nice dry spicy finish. medium bodied. a little rich but the finish really helps bring it together. 7/4/6/3/14/3.4

0.5 L on draft at the downtown brewery - Iíve had so many of these, I was shocked to realize that I hadnít rated it before. Pours a crystal clear copper color with smallish off white head that sticks around for quite a while. Aroma has a fair amount of slightly citrusy, slightly herbal hops, with some toasted continental malts and light caramel, and just the slightest hint of roasted malts. Flavor has a solidly malty backbone, with continental malts and fair amount of caramel, along with a notable herbal hop presence. FInish is nicely balanced. This is always a great beer. One of the most flavorful of the "3.2" Utah beers that Iíve ever had. If you have to have something borderline low in ABV, you could do much much worse for yourself.

Draft at the brewpub. Dark amber beer with a nice standing head. Restrained aroma of caramel malt. Drinks with a robust flavor, nutty maltiness, baked apple and a nice bitter finish. Nice.

Cask at the brewery: Amber hue; curiously clear. Mild carbonation. Watery texture. Tasty malts were wholesome and earthy with some caramel and toast. Hops provided some orange and lemon. Decent amber.

Just barely above average...decent malt profile ofset by hops. Easy drinking and not offensive but not very good.

Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hazy, brownish red pour with a thick tan head, rosy hoppiness and citrus in the nose, a nice hoppy character with some flowery and citrus hops late. Very good!
