This rich, Northwest-style Pale Ale is a rare feat of balance: unfiltered, dry-hopped to 40 IBUs, and deliciously sessionable. Groove on this two-time Great American Beer Festival® Gold Medal winner (2001 and 2002 Bitter Category). It really smoothes out the bumps.

Bottle: Pours slightly cloudy, amber-orange with a frothy beige head. Orange, orange-peel aroma. Fairly steady, citric bittering, orange-grapefruit. malty. Nice body for such a low alcohol beer. pretty damn good.....very sessionable.

Slight hazy orange pour. thin quick head. Grapefruits in the nose. Bitter. Middle is bread, orange peels , and sharp yeast. Finish is bitter. Pretty impressive profile for the alcohol content.

Bottle: Pours a dull copper color with a thick finger of creamy beige head. Retention is decent and there is plenty of sheet lacing. Nose is bright with piney sweetness, as well as citrus and caramel. Picking up a faint bready malt as it warms. Taste is tamer than the nose would suggest; subdued hops, both citrus and pine. A little herbal and what I tend to describe as dirty florals. The bready malt comes forth and really moderates any hoppiness. More of the citrus notes emerge as the glass warms, which is a plus. Pretty modest APA overall.

A- pours a hazy light gold with a thin white head. S- lots a grapefruit and lemon zest. A little orange, fresh cut grass and soap. M- light to medium tacky body with a light to medium acidic palate. T- nice grapefruit up front. Muddled citrus comes and goes throughout. Lemon mostly. Spicy with coriander and tarragon in the mid palate. Ending is light and just a little citrusy with bitter grass.

Pours hazy gold with a thin white head. Citrus and unusual floral aroma -- not exactly potpourri but kind of heading that way. Taste is grapefruit bitter with a little pine.

Draft Flight 9/02 (Brewpub-SLC)-Pours an amberish orange. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste of the same with some citrus coming in. This medium bodied brew was a decent little pale ale.

Grapefruit greets the nose. A hazy golden amber pour with a dense half inch tan head which quickly fades. Nice ringed lacing present. Slight citrus taste up front with a large dose of bread in the middle. This followed by a hoppy bitter finish with a linging bready aftertaste. Medium-light body with medium carbonatin. Overall, drinkable enough to finish the six pack, but I’ll probably suspend my purchases of Full Suspension.
