Perfect pour, thick head, clear golden honey color in the body. Hoppy aroma, like sweet citrus... a hint of cantaloupe. Potent flavor, more bitter than expected. Long hoppy aftertaste. Go Utah!

Bottle courtesy Fratto. Pours a fairly clear rich amber color that edges on orange. Nice foamy off-white head billows up and lingers.  Aroma is pretty hoppy. Lots of wet hops, resin and sappy notes, grapefruit and lots of woody notes. Pretty hefty smell for sure.  Flavor is sharp hops, mixed with a sweet fruity sense. Bitter woody notes fill the finish. Nice hoppy flavor for sure. This is pretty solid. Good tingle down the throat on the finish.

12oz bottle from gription. Thanks Dallas. Pours clear dark orange with a nice two finger white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of bright citrus and pine with hops and caramel malt. Flavors of grapefruit, pine, caramel malts, and tons of bitter hops. Just enough malts to keep it honest. Pretty damn solid.

Bottle with gooovikings in KC. Thanks Jetson! Dark orange appearance with an ivory head. Grapefruit citrusy, earthy hoppy nose. Somewhat bitter, grapefruit piney flavor. Bitter, citrusy aftertaste.

12oz bottle my great parents brought back from a recent road trip. "Born: 5/27/2011". Orange color with lots of fine, suspended sediment, so beautiful when you shine a light through it. Webby lacing on the surface, and some on the side of the glass as well. Mm. Great, solid maltiness. Mild alcohol but no warm burn, complements the resin hop nicely. The level of hop is very appropriate, it’s conservative but nice. Mild bitterness. Very light, crisp carbonation, long aftertaste. This brew is definitely a sipper, and for that purpose this palate is perfect in my opinion. Solid and satisfying... Another fantastic Imperial IPA.

Golden with a good head of fine bubbles. There’s a thick sugary aroma with some sweetness and a tart bitterness in the flavor. While it hides the alcohol well, the taste just seems to be a bit off for an Imperial IPA.

Golden with a great lacy, solid white head. Super fresh pine-citrus aroma. Full bodied maltiness spiked with a solid hop dose; with light orange citrus notes.

Hmm...twist-off. Into Guinness glass. Head decent, with a triangle of big bubbles forming in the center of a shaving-cream-like foam. A bit of citrus-grapefruit in the nose; bordering on inflatable rubber though. Really interesting from when it first hits your tongue: the bounce of a Belgian abbey beer, with a bit of that dry funk, all brought together by the heavy alcohol and malt body. Mouth-coating, sticky finish betrays the hop content, but other than that, you might not know it was a double IPA. Definitely for sipping. This is pretty interesting.

Ar: Big hop aroma - piney resin, grapefruit rind, and earthy/woody notes. Ap: Light amber, fairly clear - bit off-white head with a creamy texture and great retention and lacing. T: Sweet caramel, grapefruit and pine up front - citrus notes really linger and mingle with a high bitterness, and earthy resin comes out a bit more toward the finish - finish is warming (though the alcohol is exceptionally smooth for 9%) with some caramel notes lingering. P: Medium-full with fairly high carbonation - finish drys out relatively thanks to the bitterness. O: Really a beautiful 2X IPA - a bit more malt and sweetness than some west coast examples, but the plentiful hops still take center stage.
