12 ounce bottle from Sun Devil Liquors in Phoenix. Pours a cloudy rusty orange-red hue with a finger and a half of quite fluffy white-ish head leaving nice lacing...quite a lovely beer actually. Moderate aroma has noticeable hops (mostly fruit) but with a somewhat more significant caramel presence. Flavor of heavy thick resiny hop juice (various fruit and pine) hits you hard and is a bit much to handle. Some rich thick -- and sweet -- caramel also emerges later along with some alcohol. I live in San Diego and love DIPAs but this one comes across as really heavy for some reason and with an overly strong and sweet caramel presence. Not bad by any means, but certainly not one of my favorite DIPAs. (128, 584)

Bottle to snifter. Pours clear amber with a fluffy foamy white head that dissipates to a film. Aroma is resiness grapefruit hops and caramel malt. Taste is spice herbal grapefruity hops and creamy malt texture with the hops really lingering. Palate is medium with good carbonation and finishes dry. Pretty tasty DIPA with a lasting subtle bitterness.

Great blend of hops, malt and citrus. Alcohol is present, but very well hidden. Solid IPA.

Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a cloudy orange with a medium creamy beige head. The aroma is a strong floral hop and grapefruit. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet cascade hop with a nice light bitter finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink, a very good IIPA from Squatters.

Pours orange with a moderate white head that lasts a long time and leaves nice lacing. Aroma of orange, light grapefruits, some pine, caramel, brown sugar, and toffee. Balanced aroma, mild in nature, but all the elements are attractive. Flavor of caramel and brown sugar with some orange, pine, earth, toast, and slight lemon. Finishes with orange juice that fades into a pleasnt mix of sweet caramel/brown sugar malts and earthy toasty hops with a slight grapefruit accent. Medium bodied, creamy body, drinks very easy and makes 9% look downright effortless. Sweet and malty for sure, but avoids being cloying. This one is NOT going to please the hopheads who want IIPAs dry as a bone. But if you want something that uses a tasteful amount of sweet malts for balance and manages to be very drinkable, then I recommend this. I expected little, but I got a HELL of a lot.

12 ounce thanks to blutt59. Malty and hoppy Double IPA. Big orange body. Some tropical fruit. Another nice Squatters beer.

12 oz bottle from Sendiks. Pours orange-tan with asome head. A bit hazy with some bubbling. Aroma is lemon orange citrus, pine and bread dough. Taste is citrusy caramel with a bit of a funky doughiness and a bit floral. Somewhat thick and sticky to drink, but finishes crisper than that. Lower carbonation than it appears. My first Utah beer!

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, fruit, pine, and grapefruit. It pours a transparent amber with a one finger orange-tinged off-white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with fruit and caramel. The finish has notes of grapefruit and light oxidation. Medium bodied with mild carbonation and somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Overall, I’m not a huge fan of a strong caramel presence in IPA/IIPAs.
