12oz bottle poured into a Shaker at 43°. Color is a deep clear golden amber with good carbonation and a small tight off white head. Aroma is a faint hop scent with sweetness in the back ground. It has a lighter medium body with a crisp mouth feel. Flavor is crisp, clean and bitter with just a hint of malt showing backed by some pine and a nice bitterness. After taste is clean as the bitterness hangs on and after a few sips you start to get the alcohol. Overall I like it, it’s super easy drinking and 9% abv doesn’t hurt. But it’s definitely not a stand out and for a Double IPA there isn’t much in the flavor or aroma.

Poured from a 12oz can with a enjoy by date of 7/3/15. Appearance is nice, but is lacking in aroma and taste for what I would expect out of a solid DIPA. Good beer, but I have had a lot better DIPA

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Utah State Liquor Store #06 in Logan, Utah Price: $1.89 Purchased: May 2, 2015 Consumed: May 4, 2015 Misc.: Enjoy by July 25, 2015 Poured a light amber, auburn, slightly clear color with six fingers of khaki-white, frothy head. Lots of big bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass, almost looking like floating pulp at times. Average amount of spotty foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Very good retention. (Sight - 3.88) Smelled lime zest, Cascade, floral, Citra, nectarine rind, resin, herbal and caramel. (Smell - 3.75) Tasted a bit better than the nose, getting rye, caramel, resin, Cascade, pine cone, nectarine rind, Citra and booziness late, but still nowhere near 9 percent. (Taste - 3.88) Medium body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.00) Didn’t quite live up to my thoughts from a few nights ago, when I had four cans, but still pretty good. Nice beer for the style. (Overall - 3.88) 3.87 87 B+

Single bottle from HyVee Ankeny. "Enjoy by 6/24/2015." And I am striving to have more of my Imperial IPA’s fresh, finding that aging isn’t always best. So this throws off a big luscious smell of green leaf hops right under the cap. Poured into an IPA tulip, its shows a darker body than most IPAs, more of an amber color, under a thick but lacy head. Hops smell is more subdued in the glass, perhaps as it’s being confronted by some strong malt (but no alcohol smell). Sipping gives me a slightly syrupy, caramel tasting malt. A strange thread of astringent patent roast malt, either my imagination or they slipped in just a little for color. Hops are rustic, with a dominating taste of pine needles and overall just a slightly prickly bitterness. Thick mouthfeel forces me to enjoy this slowly. A good strong IPA, definitely best enjoyed fresh!

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Pours a clear medium amber with a thick off white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of light pine, caramel and tangerine. Not over the top but very pleasant. Tastes of caramel, pine, tangerine, and grapefruit with a nice even bitterness/ acidity that finishes through to a moderately dry finish. Body is medium to full. Very drinkable for a 9% with the alcohol well hidden. Very good beer.

This is a great double IPA from a great brewer. It?s delicious and easy to drink. The hops are flavorful without being overpowering. Enjoy!

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. It might have been nice if it had a freshness date. Golden pour with tremendous, foamy cream colored head. Aroma of breaded malts and resiny and earthy hops. Vague booze. Medium body. The hops bring out a light earthy bitterness in the taste.

Slightly hazy copper color with fluffy white head. Strong spicy hop aroma. Taste- rich and hoppy. Caramel, crackery malt and intense spicy, grassy hops. For a IIPA it's pretty avg. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
