pale, semi-hazy orange with a full finger of lingering white head. Aromas of grapefruity citrus and pine resonate, with very little else showing through. Taste is a citrus of a different color, kind of a melon-flavored pine combination. Very interesting. Fairly sweet, with some malt showing through. Only real complaint is a detectable metallic flavor. Doesn’t taste very boozy. Finish is clean, which surprises me.

7/9/2014. From bottle. Amber with a white head. Sweet caramel aromas with pine and resin. Boozy caramel flavors, a bit sticky and too much alcohol burn for my taste.

Dark yellow orange body with a nice cream head. Citrus hop aroma with a mild earth smell. Thick creamy mouth feel. Taste bitter citrus with a slight sweet aftertaste. This is pretty good. Better than expected.

Bottle split w/Travlr. Deep gold pour with a large white head. Hot melon and cantaloupe. Honey. Taste of hot cross buns. White raisin, honeyed pear and cantaloupe. Chewy sweet malts. Brown sugar. Hot. Medium body, oily. Drinks to its strength. Decent.

Bottle to IPA glass. Poured a slightly hazy golden brown. Not a much of a head but nice lacing on the glass. Lots of citrus and pine notes. A little carbonation but not too much (about right). Aftertaste is pleasant without too much pine. While I have had better double IPAs it’s a very good IIPA at any price and is a bargain at it’s current price.

Bootle poured into a glass. Amber pour with a super thick off-white head that just won’t go away. Aroma is kind of nail polish remover, hints of citrus and cereal malt. Taste, even the slightest sip, is bracingly bitter. Exactly what I would expect from a DIPA of his ABV. Basically a hoppy barleywine.

12 oz can. Pours hazy reddish gold with a medium creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is very sweet and sugary slightly rotten fruit with some caramel malt and resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet sugary crystal malts, funky tropical fruit and some resiny hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, odd combination of sweet sugary crystal malt, funky fruit and some resiny hops.

Can. Pours golden with an off-white head. Aroma of peach, some herbal notes, malt, some flour and fruitiness. Flavor is sweet and fruity with some citrus, herbal notes, floral notes and pine. Medium body, average carbonation.

Copper gold from the bottle at Squatter’s Airport Pub. Almost no head in this but what was laced up the side as the brew disappeared. A solid malt backbone overtakes the hops, but it seems a race between the two as I finish the glass. This has a nice pine resin taste, and a little fruity afterglow in my nose as the beer goes down. Had better DIPAs by a stretch, but this one will do in an airport pinch!

Bottle to glass. Pours a medium copper color, light haze. Aroma is floral hops, slight pine, light citrus. Mild malt presence. Taste is floral, hints of fruit and grass. Hints of pine resin at the end. Solid malt body, good bitterness with some slight sweet honey. Palate is medium body, medium carbonation. Overall a solid double ipa. Balanced.

Pours a murky, yet vibrant orange-golden color with a perfectly formed bumpy, foamy eggshell colored head sitting atop. Tangy citrus and mango with a lot of white pepper on the nose. Thick texture for a DIPA. Good balance in the flavor. Bitter and sweet are well-balanced. The hop profile and the malt character interact seamlessly for tropical fruit quality. Alcohol is very well-obscured.
