Golden and poured from the bottle with a small head. Hops are very dominant -they lead to a pleasant dryness. A very good example of this style which was very easy to drink.

12 oz bottle: clear, dark gold. Quickly diminishing white head. Decent hoppy aromatics with a good deal of hop cones, pine and citrus resin. After thoughts of hops and bitterness: the palate is a bit watery and can’t maintain the hop profile through to the finish, which makes this a pretty unremarkable example.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ungstrup (26261) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 12, 2005
An orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of both hops and caramel - but it also has some notes of barnyard, which makes me wonder if it is a bit off. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and some Cascade fruit notes, leading to a hoppy bitter end. OK hoppiness, but nothing crazy.

Smells is not too strong. This has a great taste. Crisp, clean bite with hops that sustain. The ending isn’t too bitter but still crisp. Good stuff.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2005
Bottled at GBBF, ,August 2005 (Day 2). It may not be as big as most US IPAs, but I thought this was a cracking beer. Attractive burnished copper appearance. The aroma has all the classic trademarks of pine, resin and grapefruit. More of the same on the palate but relatively restrained (for a US IPA). Soft malt provides the counterpoint. Smooth, fairly light bodied, but not weedy. Bittersweet finish. Hugely drinkable. I’d certainly have this one again.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JonMoore (1581) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2005
Bottle from Only Fine Beer. Light amber colour with a very slim white head. Nice , very hoppy aroma, with citrus and sweet malts. Flavour is similar, hoppy, grapefruity, fruity, sweet malts and a hoppy bitter finish. Medium bodied, slightly sticky mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation. A bit more balanced than some American IPA’s I’ve tried. Very good.

Bottle @ GBBF, 2005. Cascade hops. Sweet and quite delicate with a lovely fragrant dryness. Very drinkable - which, for me, is the main purpose of beer.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 leaparsons (7069) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 26, 2005
Bottle. Golden with an off-white head. Aromas are sweet malts with pine, spices and lots of floral hops. Flavours are peppery with sweet pine and sweet, soft maltiness. Has a grapefruit bitterness towards the finish. Not bad.
