matt7215 (489), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada May 15, 2008 12 oz bottle from a trade with douglas88. pours golden with a nice off-white head and lotsa carbonation. fresh piney hops show in the aroma but not much else. the aroma is also quite relaxed and doesnt jump out at you. flavours are mostly hoppy with a weak malt structure. pretty enjoyable but nothing special. id love to try this on tap. thanks doug.
SuperDave70 (641), Arizona, USA Jul 10, 2008 Clear deep gold color with a good white head that lasted throughout and left nice lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and some hop bitterness. Flavor is more hops than malt, but still nicely balanced. Good hop bite on a quick finish. Slightly thin palate, but a refreshing and surprisingly good 6-pack IPA. rkuhnel (977), Eureka, California, USA Jul 3, 2008 From a six pack that cost $8.23 in McCall, Idaho this poured from a 12 oz bottle a clear gold with fat white head and great lacing. Nose of caramel malts and citrus hops, and a rich and clean mouthfeel. Nice bitter hops in the flavor and a nice long bitter finish. Very nice IPA. Bigmmartin (126), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 18, 2008 Bottle thanks to Douglas88!
An extremely drinkable, balanced, and crisp IPA that neither too extreme to overly dull. Dark golden color with nice head. Nice hop aroma and flavor, but too bitter. Finishes quick. Not as complex as some other hard hitting IPAs, but definitely an enjoyable session beer. boise_brewer (6), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA does not count Jun 5, 2008 Definite hop aroma, but not citrusy, more like the hop smell that comes out of a fermenting batch of beer. Also a bit of a vegetal aroma in the back. Crystal clear, beautiful deep gold color, with a rocky head that lasts forever. Flavor was very grainy, but not sweet, leaves a lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue. Very full bodied, almost creamy, and not very highly carbonated. Overall, a decent beer, but I would like a little more complexity. I think I may have gotten an old bottle in that I have had this one before and thought much more highly of it. nimbleprop (551), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 5, 2008 This 12oz bottle came as a "freebie" in the free trade with Footbalm. Pours a transparent, orange yellow with tons of carbonation and a tight, lacing, sudsy head. Aroma is very typical of an English Pale Ale, some and malt married together with nothing jumping out as the lead aroma. Get your nose in there and you’ll pick up biscuits, slight resin and leafy vegetables. Flavor has more citrus than the nose would indicate, lemons and oranges with slightly grainy bread and something floral like dandelions. Dry finish has some mild lasting bitterness. Good session beer, well crafted.
