3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Public House Las Vegas. Pours black with a thin, mocha film head that coats the glass. Aroma had smooth notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, cola/caramel, dark fruits, and a warm alcohol. Awesome. Taste is bitter but balanced as well as expected. Big roasted malts, dark chocolate, and a bit of espresso on the finish mixed with an alcohol warmth. Medium-full body with a low-medium carbonation and dry finish. Creamy texture with a soft carbonation. Overall excellent awesome flavour and mouth feel.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Cash Wise in Williston. Appearance: finger dark coco brown head, great lacing, head lasts as a film, black color. Aroma: raisin, chocolate, light alcohol, molasses, light hidden floral. Palate: full body, creamy smooth carbonation, light alcohol warming, mild bitter lasting finish, oily texture. Taste: sweet raisin and fruit, into a sweet chocolate and cereal, into a light floral bitter finish. Transition is really smooth, the alcohol is actually pretty contained, love the chocolate, the feel is super good as well. Aroma is really good as well, but taste is lacking slightly. I would love to age a bottle of this. Or two.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"Black pour, dark brown head. Rich molasses and alcohol aroma. Dark fruit and coffee hidden. Smooth body for 10.5. The alcohol is there but never prohibitive. A little anise and licorice atop the rest of what was in the nose. Pretty "Russian". Moderate bitterness. Good brew."

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black, very little heard. Oak aging gives almost a slight bourbon aged boozy smell. Sweet with hints of licorice and caramel. Finishes in the palate with some hoppiness. Overall, good beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the July 2014 3R6P gathering. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy beige head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, black licorice, wood, chocolate and coconut. The flavor was bitter dark chocolate, toasty malts, red wine, wood and coconut. Long finish of chocolate, red wine and coconut. Thick and smooth though undercarbonated. Excellent.

2 oz. or smaller pour, from a bottle at St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Consumed on 6-7-14. Pours dark brown with tan head. Smoky aroma features coffee, plum, and raspberry scents. Flavors of molasses and plum. Barley wine-like taste. Coffee finish. A solid beer overall for sure.

Fairly typical imperial stout until the licorice finish kicks in, balancing very nicely with the chocolate and molasses.
