A burgundy red color with a white head. A little toasted sugar notes to the aroma. This has some defnite back end sweetness and the body has caramel mostly. A few hops. Good but too much on the sweet side for me.

750mL thanks to douglas88. It pours clear amber with gold edges and a dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet malts, sweet nuttiness and then some molasses. The taste is similar where I get sweet malts and rich sweet nuttiness that runs rampant from front to back. To midway and into the finish the maltiness grows a tad and picks up one of his best friends, molasses. Nice brew.

750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of cocoa, graininess, earthiness and carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, earthiness, graininess and carmel with a smooth lingering earthy finish.

From a bottle brought back from Salt Lake City by my brother. Poured red to brown. Off white head. Good lacing. Nose of roasted malts and floral hops. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is balanced between malts and hops with some fruit. Mildly bitter finish. Quite good.

Single bottle purchased from State Liquor Store in Kimball Junction, Utah on 11/03/2012. Colour: Medium red/brown mix with high but quickly fading white head. Nose: Lots of bready notes. Mixes of spicy herbs, faintest hint of forest pine, and some brown sugar. Taste: Light sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Robust with lots of earthy-like malt and ample roast. Some dark grain bread. Thin beyond this and lacking secondary depth. Just slightly above average.

Pours red ambe with a thick head. Strong musty yeast smell but smooth flavor with some sweet malt. Just OK.

Thanks to Santa for this sessionable delight. A solid amber ale was just what I needed after some yardwork. While it flew under my radar before I will definitely be keeping an eye for Squatter’s beers as they expand distribution eastwards.

Aroma / Appearance - Mostly opaque with a rusty brown base, the creamy head and light fluid feel give this a delicate atmosphere. The nose is very summery with a mixture of sun tea, cherry tomatoes, and noble hops.

Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel is light yet contains a cohesive mix of several nice flavors. Caramel, cocoa, sourdough bread, and tomato sauce are all present. Other than the last they are pleasing to a thirsty palate. This isn’t the most complex red ale I’ve had but it isn’t bad either.

Clear red pour, light malty aroma, malty and nutty flavor that lingers nicely. Good beer.
