3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden, visible carbonation, and an average head. Strong apricot nose and flavor. Quite nice actually. More like juice than beer, but it’s tasty enough to be forgiven.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice light rosey golden colour with good carbonation. Not surprisingly, it has a distinct aprikat flavour that is sweet and easy to drink. 341ml bottle. I would buy this again on a hot day.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2006 341ml bottle - pours lightly golden with a thick white head on top. Aroma is, well...apricot. Sweet and floral with notes of peaches as well. Flavour is similar, lots and lots of apricot, with some subtle wheat notes (very subtle) and some rounded malt to smooth it out. Very creamy (from the wheat). This is a sweet brew, but the sweetness is not cloying, something worthy of distinction for a North American fruit beer. Fairly interesting and inviting taste, though it doesn’t really appeal to me, and certainly not when I’m in the mood to drink a beer. Ideally, I would probably tone down the apricot flavour slightly and amp up the wheat beer qualities. S’allright.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2006 341 ml bottle - pours pale gold with a thick white head. Aroma of APRICOTS -bottle this scent and The Body Shop has a new product. Taste is much the same - dominated by apricot (extract) - not much wheat or ale in there at all, some strange astringency in the back of the throat. The real problem here is that the apricot is so overpowering, there is no balance at all. Really a one note deal - apricot juice that’ll get you drunk....come to think of it, that may not be a bad thing.......but we’re rating BEER here and this is anything but. Not horrible, not amazing, certainly different....if I want a beer, i’ll have one, and if I want a fuzzy navel, i’ll have one of those. But there aren’t too many times when I want a beer that tastes like a fuzzy navel....why do I even know what a fuzzy navel is? I’m sorry.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[057-20060923] 341mL. Smells like sweet, fruity apricots. Light ruddy-amber body with a short-lived white head. Tastes like creamed wheat, strong apricot presence with a long, creamy aftertaste. Medium body, very nice roundness. Overall, very nice! Love the apricot kick.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep golden with a fairly dense head. Tons of apricot aroma! Palate is on the light side, with apricot sweetness predominating in conjunction with a wheaty body. Finish is distinctly tart-- you can feel it in your cheeks early on. The tartness and solid wheat presence prevent this from being cloyingly sweet, and it remains enjoyable till the end. I didn’t find this to be poorly integrated like some of the other raters, and I distinctly prefer this over another apricot beer I tried not long ago (Melborne Bros.).

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange tinted beer with a slight rosy shine and slight haze; good, very dense head, looking as whipped eggwhite. Cray & watercolour nose, then some peachy/apricot nose as in concentrate, or some refined ester. Very strange, but integrated mix as from apricot fruitjuice, or diluted apricot brandy, wheat (quite present) but also some British bitter. They appear at different moments (the bitter, nearly hoppy, especially retronasal), but they do not break in, but are confluent. Put differently, excellent balance. The apricot, however is a tad artificial. Not sweet, not sour - neutral going into soft bitter. Light, certain but mild burning MF. Mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, the apricot doesn’t convince me. OTOH, the rest is, however light, well balanced and honest. Thanks, Igor!
