Une bière pâle non-filtrée possédant un délicieux goût de sucre d’orge, la Double IPA déborde d’amertume et d’arômes d’houblons américains, soit l’intense Chinook, le célèbre Cascade, et le rare et exclusif Citra!

So I found this bottle that I had forgotten in my fridge for quite a while. Maybe the hops presence will be less intense, but why not open it. It’s not milk! Served in a Spiegelau IPA glass. Pours a cloudy golden. On the nose tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Tastewise, same as the nose with a good balance of malty flavours. Long bitterness and long final. I assume that it would be better drank not almost a year after purchase, but still a decent DIPA.

Visual: Pours cloudy carrot orange with a smallish dissipating head, 1mm layer of retention, loose slow steady streams. Nose: orange-tangerine hop oils, light malt background. (lvl-7)-pungency Attack: creamy-fine CO2, incoming bitter hops Mid-palate: fullness, (lvl-5)-sweetness, (MAIN) toffee barley malt, orange citrus, light-tangy, alcohol detection Finish: soft compounding bitter grapefruit peel bitterhops, clean but flat finish. Summary: Longer flavours and a more prevalent bitter hop profile than their regular IPA that I just tasted. The initial mouthfeel and body are good, but I feel the finish ends somewhat short.

One finger off white head, fades quickly. Crystal clear good colour. Aroma caramel malt, toffee, pine, light citrus, very slight nail polish, alcohol. Flavours match but it has a strong piney nail polish flavour. High carbonation. Med body, dry finish.

A golden DIPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy floral hops. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light fruity esters, pink grapefruit, light butterscotch, floral resinous hops, OK. Can at La Cuvée d’été, 2015.

Hits the style, thick, very carbonated. Hops not so tasteful, as this needs balance. From Broue Ha Ha.

Bottle - Citrus and light pine with some nice caramel back bone. Clear gold with a rich off white head. Lots of sweet caramel with some Mandarin and orange notes. A little on the sweet side, but not bad.

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Hazy golden color with small head. The aroma is mildly fruity, mellow; nice. The malt profile is poor, there are light colored caramel notes, but that’s not enough; decent level of bitterness, like a Pale Ale, a bit of hop resins, but not at all the hop qualities expected from a Double IPA.
Modest beer.

341mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out caramel biscuity malt and very mild resinous hops -- more malty than hoppy but not too sweet. Flavour is not overly hoppy, with toffee, biscuity malt and lightly astringency floral hops. Not a good hop blend. Weird stuff -- seems very confused. Finishes malty and sweet, but not cloying. A jumbled mess. Not bad, but it’s a bad recipe.

341ml bottle. Clear orange with a frothy off-white head. Flavors are caramel, sugar, apricot, citrus, pine resin, soap and alcohol with floral and spicy notes. Cloying sweetness, harsh and astringent finish, hardly drinkable. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, oily sticky texture.

341ml bottle. Clear golden body, medium fluffy white head with good retention. Some sediments at the bottom. Aroma is fruity and sweet: orange candies, caramel, butter, peaches and some pine. Taste is clean and crisp: good amount of malts, orange candies, grapefruit zest, a touch of pine. Overall a good and pleasant IPA.
