Une bière pâle non-filtrée possédant un délicieux goût de sucre d’orge, la Double IPA déborde d’amertume et d’arômes d’houblons américains, soit l’intense Chinook, le célèbre Cascade, et le rare et exclusif Citra!

Pours golden with a finger of white cap that sticks around. Nose is pine, pear, spice, a bit of citrus. Taste is caramel and bread, alcohol, spice, with a dry pine finish. A bit of alcohol warmth lingers at the end. Overall it’s pretty drinkable, but lacking a little bit of hop character.

On tap at the brewery terrace as a sample. Double IPA a clear copper gold with a filmy head, it has a true juicy hop bouquet. Clean bitterness that is pretty neutral with a sweet-sour malt backbone, good.

Deep golden pour with a thick white head. The nose is spicy and woody with lots of rich pine character. Really resinous and lightly sweet with a rich pine aroma and flavour. Sweet and sticky but with a fresh sort of hop flavour. Not a typical IIPA but it kind of works. Less tropical and delicate - it’s like a resinous kick in the guts. Decent.

341 ml bottle from the Bishops Cellar. Pours a clear orange colour with small white head. Aroma is strong grains, some caramel and spicy resin. Flavour is big, lightly toasted grains, gentle caramel and some fairly strong, spicy resinous hops, as well as definite booziness in the finish. Carbonation on the gentler side. Bit of an underwhelming Doubke IPA.

First off, is there such a thing as an english double ipa? Hmm, they might have stumbled across something. Also, they claim citra is in here somwhere, but i cant find it. How do you brew a beer with chinook, cascade and citra and come away with a beer that has zero grapefruit, and almost no citrus aromas or flavours!? This beer is all pine. Pjne aroma and flavour. Very heavy biscuity malts, quite bready also. The finish is very bitter and just pine. Dont get me wrong its not a bad beer, but not what i was expecting, well maybe yes seeing its from st amnbroise, maybe i was expecting this.

341ml bottle. Pours a clear, orange/gold with a half inch white head. Aroma is big and juicy. Pine, citrus, slight bread, and a touch of alcohol. A touch creamy. Really nice. Taste is I solid bitter with lots of pine, resin, some bread and citrus, and a touch of alcohol warmth on a bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly resiny in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall a pretty good brew for Quebec. Pine, citrus, and resin, with a big, dry finish. Would get again.

Great beer! If you like IPA, you’ll love it! The best of St-Ambroise’s beers!

Pours hazy amber with a very thin white head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit with the slightest hint of marmalade. Taste wise this is a very nice blend of hops and malts. Very balanced. An underlying sweetness that is in no way overpowering. Overall, a rock solid double IPA that is more quaffable than a lot of other 8% abv beers.

Great looking beer. Clear copper pour with a large frothy white head and clinging lace. Lovely fresh fruit gum hop aroma. Overall a malty IPA but keeps the fruit hop flavour bursting through. Sweet on the palette. Overall a lovely beer.
