3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
341 ml bottle bought at Les Marchands de Bières in Sainte-Thérèse (Quebec) on March 6, 2014. Dark orange, thin head. Sweet aroma of maple with a little barley. Taste a bit the same, but with notes of sour fruit, slightly bitter herbs. Not that bad, more of a novelty drinkable beer!

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Deep ruby pour, small off white head. Aroma of very sweet maple candies with some vanilla thrown in. Solid carb, good mouth feel. Finish is low on bittneress, with some deep sweetness. The maple is a little over powering, the sweetness is cloying. Not sure i can finish the bottle.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft: Poured an amber color ale with a small foamy head with light retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of woody notes with maple notes with light dry caramel notes. Taste is also a very nice mix of dry caramel malt with some woody notes and some clear maple notes. Body is light with medium carbonation. I am usually not a fan of maple beer but I must admit that this one is quite good.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
341 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep copper with a large light tan head.
Aroma: Sickly sweet, light maple/smoke character, bubble gum esters, typical St-Ambroise yeast character, somewhat metallic, buttery caramel, messy.
Palate: Medium body, slightly slick, moderate carbonation.
Flav.: Lots of buttery maple/brown sugar with faint smoke, light drinking a pancake, not great; dry with more maple and butter and a brown sugar finish.
Breakfast in a bottle...not very good.

Pours brown with medium beige head. Aroma is of maple syrup, caramel, sugar, nothing else really. Taste is of maple syrup, sugar, caramel, some acidity. Palate: Medium body. Slightly sticky. Overall: Bah. Not so good. Acidity is somewhat unpleasant. Could be worse, but still...

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells like maple. No it really smells like maple. Blind smell test this and Aunt Jemima and I may not be able to tell. Actually that’s not bad at all. I’ve usually found at maple beer is better I theory than practice. This proves me wrong. Easy to drink not too sweet. Nice hops in the finish that really balances it.

[5137-20130222] 341mL bottle. Maple sugary candy gummies aroma. Clear, bright amber body with a quick foamy white head. Maple liqueur flavour is incredibly sweet with a long aftertaste. Medium body. Love maple but this over the top. (6/3/5/3/9) 2.6

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep amber pour. The aroma is softly sweet with a fruity maple aroma. Has a little bit of soft spice and a sort of cologne-like earthiness that isn’t entirely unpleasant. Nicely dry. Almost a buttered rum character. Very interesting.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Maple syrup flavour in general isn’t exactly my cup of tea, but at least this isn’t overly sweet or syrupy in consistency. Big initial smell of maple, but the beer tastes more or less like a lager on the follow through with a persistent maple flavour. Pours clear maple with some fizzy initial head and little lacing. Finishes crisp and a touch sweet. Tap at The Only Café.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at The Only. Pours a clear copper-orange colour with lasting off-white head. Aroma is bursting with sweet maple sugar, maybe some caramel. Flavour is also dominated by mapley sweetness, some gentle grains and light caramel. Average body. Interesting and somewhat enjoyable, but something I could only ever have in moderation.
