2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
It has the same problems as a lot of maple flavoured ales, it tastes too artificial. I had a hard time finishing it. I would use it to cook but that is about it. One, if not the worst beer of st-ambroise.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A beautiful amber brown with a fou beige head. Great maple aroma with a decent level of sweetness and malt in the background.
Rich maple flavor, nutty and semi-sweet though it veers towards more of a soda than a beer especially with the high carbonation which adds to that feel.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
341ml bottle @ PBF XI.
Poured amber color with a thin white head.
Maple syrup for sure, dominates especially in flavor. Sweet, gets a bit too dominating quickly, sticky finish. One dimensional.

Bière au sirop d’érable ? Ben oui... mais non... Belle robe rouge et petite pellicule de mousse n’en font pas une bière à mon goût. Déception donc au final.

Bottle 34.1cl. Poured into a shaker. Clear deep amber brown color, small frothy beige head, dissipates quickly, good lacing; strong and dominant maple (syrup) aroma, kopiko candy; taste heavy sweet, slightly bitter, maple syrup, butterscotch, retronasal maple notes, long duration, mild sweetbitter finish, spicy notes; medium body, oily to sticky texture, soft carbonation; interesting maple rules beer, clearly a sugary character but not of the cloying kind.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ich denke es war vom Fass. Im Au Pied de cochon in Montreal. Dunkelgoldene Farbe. Fester Schaum. Fruchtiger Hopfen und Ahornsyrup Aroma. Der Geschmack ist überraschend herb. Ahorn kommt nicht zuckerig, sondern gewürzig. Das Bier passt hervorragend zu deftigem Essen.

Draft in Toronto. Dark, orange-tinged brown. Creamy tan head. Sweet, oddly artificial fruit aroma. Maple, sure. Creamy body, ok, very sweet odd maple, not like syrup. Ok, not great.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear deep amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is dominated by caramel, toffee and maple. Taste is caramel malts, toffee, maple all in a nice delicate balance... Finish is semi dry which really makes this beer nice and refreshing. Would be a great beer to make pulled pork with or to pair with a bbq?d tenderloin.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear dark copper topped by a finger of creamy tanned head. The nose is, at first, more bubblegum than maple, but as it oxydises the maple is revealed. The taste is maple paired with roasted malts. Some earthy hops are barely present in the back and open to a dry finish. Medium-low body with a creamy feel and feeble carbonation. Interesting product with a good maple taste. Better have it fresh to really get all the maple. Cheers!
