COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Behind its magnificent ruby-red colour, St. Ambroise Raspberry Ale reveals its refreshing charm from the moment you encounter its bouquet and flavour. Made with fresh raspberries and choice sun-ripened hops, it gently engages your tastebuds in a delicious explosion of flavours. Its delicate fruit aromas marry perfectly with the pleasant hop character typical of all St-Ambroise ales. Brewed in Quebec, just once a year, it's a unique summertime treat.

Marron foncé avec une mousse moyenne ruby/beige. L’arôme sourdiné de framboise aigre. Le goût est principalement aigre avec un peu de sucre. Un peu de framboise, mais pas trop et c’est un peu artificiel.

Bottle acquired a long time ago (best before February 28, 2013). Pours with a hazed, deep blood hued body with a foamy, slightly pink tinted head. Excellent lace and retention. Aromas are of jammy raspberry, really grainy, bready, wheat like, some grassy hop notes. Mostly toasted and fruity flavors. A touch of artificial sweetener like aroma (I’m not saying that was used, but it smells slightly sweet and chemically). Flavors are quite a bit more bitter than I was expecting. Some floral honey notes, toasty baked bread and of course raspberries. Decently dry and balanced and to be honest, not nearly as sweet or otherwise bad as I was expecting. Medium to fuller, slightly creamy carbonation. Decent body, a bit tannic. Overall bitter with a neutral finish.

Bouteille de 341ml, robe rougeâtre, arome de petits fruits, en bouche, c’est la framboise!

341ml bottle. Pours a hazy sort of watery Clamato coloured red, with a pink/beige head. For unknown reasons there is quite a bit of burnt marshmallow on the nose, with fresh raspberries, floral notes, and a little dough. The taste is heavy on raspberry juice, faint lemon, followed by just enough hops to let you know they’re present, and some malt and mineral notes in the finish. The presence of the hops makes this for me. It’s not just all raspberry. A bit of a surprise here. Pretty decent stuff!

Pours a cloudy vibrant red accompanied with a small pinkish head. Smells sour, very little malt characteristic. Tastes closest to a raspberry than any other beer I’ve had with noticeable carbonation.

Pours a cloudy ruby red color with a big reddish white head. Initial taste is sweet raspberry them finishes with authentic sour raspberry. Like made with a mix of both extract and real fruit.

The fruit ale pours red amber in color, pinkish from the berries. The aroma is pleasant bring the sweet raspberry fruits in the nose and a bit of yeast. The flavor brings some sweet berries, but bland malt flavors are overall disappointing here and the berries die quickly. Not sweet or tart or funky really to bring a unique note to it.

341ml bottle. Pours a deep, unfiltered, velvet red with a large, fluffy, pink head. Aroma is nice with some natural raspberry jam sweetness and tartness. Something about the taste seemed a little off, hops too earthy or something metallic? Body is light and dry. Overall, looked good, smelled good, but the taste didn’t come together. Raspberry taste doesn’t come through and very little beer here.

Bottle 341ml. Pours reddish with low pinky head. Aroma is of raspberries. Taste is of raspberries. Sligth acidity and bitterness. Balance not too shabby. A fair fruit beer.
