COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Behind its magnificent ruby-red colour, St. Ambroise Raspberry Ale reveals its refreshing charm from the moment you encounter its bouquet and flavour. Made with fresh raspberries and choice sun-ripened hops, it gently engages your tastebuds in a delicious explosion of flavours. Its delicate fruit aromas marry perfectly with the pleasant hop character typical of all St-Ambroise ales. Brewed in Quebec, just once a year, it's a unique summertime treat.

[bottle] Pours reddish brown color, with a short-lived pink head. Subtle fruit aroma. Tart, mildly acidic raspberry flavors mix with a somewhat weak malt background. Finish is very dry, with a touch of woodiness. Not really something Iíd pick up again, even if it comes in a fancy box.

bottle shared by Dickinsonbeer. Murky reddish brown in color with a small head. Aroma has alot of sweet rasberry jam, with musty caramel malts, and some weird hops. Taste is sweet rasberry, sugar, lightly musty caramel malts- as well as some weird floral hop character. the fresh rasberry part of it was nice, otherwise, kind of strange.

Pours a watery red with no head & some minimal lacing. Aroma is leafy raspberry, very thin and green. Tastes equally watery and thin, bitter and tea-like, more like it was made from the leaves of a raspberry plant than the actual berries themselves. Thin with passable carb. Weak and uninteresting.

Sweet fruit malt aroma. Clear amber colour with fair head and lacing. Sweet stone fruit malt apricot flavour. Smooth palate.

Single bottle purchased from Trackside Liqour in Medicine Hat, AB on 06/18/2011. Colour: Dark brown with medium soft and creamy head that shows a distinct stubborness. A slight pink tinge to it as well. Nose: Candied raspberries, very sugary...completely dominant. Taste: Medium sweet, light bitter, medium-light sour. More raspberry and with a slightly sour kick, a touch of peach. Works itself into a slight cheese profile and fades sticky with stringent fruit. Interesting.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2012 Bottle 341 ml. Dark brown/red with a medium white with pink highlights head. Some lacing. Aroma of raspberries and slight (very slight) tartness. Taste of red fruits (where the fresh raspberries are gone?) and malt. Slight acidic aftertaste which I donít like. Refreshing but lack of complexity and nothing really stand out in this beer.

Five bucks for this bottle, and all you get for this money is a muddled blend of raspberry syrup and bland, vague malts. Didnít notice the "sun-ripened hops", which makes sense because hops donít ripen and all hops are grown outside anyway. Whether they are merely trotting out their old raspberry beer in a pretentious package or not I donít know, but charging real money for this blend of bland is criminal. They better not do this with my oatmeal stout!

Pours a clear ruby color with a medium but diminishing pink bubbly head. Aroma of tart raspberries and mild sweetness. The flavor is like the aroma, tart rapsberries and sweetness, the malt is also present. The body is light and liquorous and the carbonation is medium. Itís not bad but gets kind of boring after a while.

Pours a deep ruby red with a small slightly off white head. Aroma is slightly subdued. Raspberry and slightly boozy in the nose. Taste is a dull raspberry with small hop and floral. Somewhat disappointing.
