COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ales were brewed in the 19th century with long sea travel in clipper ships across the equator to India in mind. In order to endure these rigours, the beers were high in alcohol and brewed with plenty of hops. The hops provided a spicy bitterness balancing the malt and maintaining the quality of the ale through the natural antibacterial properties of hops. McAuslan has brewed a classic IPA using a blend of pale and specialty malts giving the beer a New World Twist.

From 341 ml bottle. Pours a perfectly clear amber with a one-finger white head that really lasts. Fine carbonation. Aromas of pine, lemon, honey, crusty bread, flowers and caramel. Taste is gently sweet at the front, but a firm pine resin bitterness soon kicks in. There’s more sweetness at the end but tempered by some spice and lemon zest. Medium bodied with a gently spicy aftertaste. Refined and balanced. A nicely understated IPA.

Pours an amber body with a tall off-white head. Aroma of caramel, herbs, pine, toasted grain, and citrus. Flavor of caramel, resiny pine, bread, florals, and grass with a dry, bitter finish.

Cheers!

Aroma: sweet malt aroma with some caramel character and paired with fragrant hopiness Taste :distinct but not overpowering bitterness. Some roasted malt flavors detected. Nice to see base malts comming through in an ipa Appearance : clear gold body with frothy head

Can. Pours a dark golden with a medium white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is floral hops over a caramel base, a little fruity/citrusy. Taste is moderately sweet with a nice bitter kick. Flavors of caramel for the most part and unfortunately a little butter. Nothing dramatic, though. Finishes on some clean bitter notes. Body is medium, carbonation too. Mouthfeel is oily but not in the typical way, not sure I can convey that into words.... Bah, lets say "super-oily". Nice one, not too complex though.

Im a huge ipa lover so I might be a little biased when it comes down to ipa’s. Great beer. Strong ipa. Gets you nice and toasty with a 6.2 alc. Vol.

Bottle. Amber with a loose white head. Earthy aroma with butterscotch, peach, kumquat marmalade, white pepper. Oily, low carbonation. Sweet and fruity with more peach and orange than caramel. Fairly strong bitterness struggles a bit to break through. Peppery with fleshy citrus at the end. From the hearty end of IPAs.
