Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Pours dark brown/black with big brown head. Nice chocolate and coffee aromas. Burnt malt flavor with some coffee and choolate flavors and slightly bittersweet. Mild carbonation, medium to full body and a velvety smooth mouthfeel make this go down smooth. Very easy to drink, a well done stout.

Deep dark brown, faint traces of chocolate hit the nose and a tan white head retains well. Nice lacing effects. Tastes smooth, the oatmeal is a nice partner to the dark malts, the chocolate hints remain more of a background presence than anything. Goes down smooth, a pleasure to drink. Serving type: bottle

Dark beer out of the bottle with a frothy brown head. Dark malty nose with hints of chocolate and licorice. Pours very thick and leaves great lace. Very smooth mouthfeel that coats the mouth in a very pleasing way. Chocolate with a strong malty sweetness balanced well by the coffee bitterness. Great sipping beer, one of the best offered in Ontario.

Aroma of burnt oak, coffee, and soy sauce, along with a very whole grain bread type of smell. This just looks great in the glass with its massive tan head and very dark black color, not to mention the good lace it leaves on the glass. Taste is particularly dry with hints of coffee beans, raisins, and of course oatmeal. This beer is particularly smooth and easy to drink, perhaps a little too smooth, but pleasant never the less.

Bottle. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of dark malts, coffee, light oatmeal, and notes of chocolate. Richly roasted flavor with chocolate, oatmeal, toasted grains and a touch of light smokiness.

Pours black with brown head. Sweet aroma of oatmeal, dark fruit, coffee, and vanilla. Flavor is slightly sweet, slightly bitter, with vanilla, chocolate, caramel, and oatmeal up front and some roastiness at the end. A bit chalky. Damn good for a regular stout. Somewhat dry finish.

A black appearance with a moderate tan head. The aroma is rather mild and contains some chocolate, oatmeal, and a hint of coffee. The flavor is slightly bitter with some chocolate, oatmeal, dark fruit. Doesn’t seem to live up to the hype of the past but still a solid stout.

12oz bottle. Nearly opaque red-brown with a small brown head. Caramel, cocoa, some roastiness in the aroma. Thin bitter chocolate flavor up front. Chalky roastiness with a persistent tartness. Slight sweetness in the finish, with faint chocolate. Mouthfeel is light, somewhat dry.
