gringo332 (235), Richardson, Texas, USA Apr 14, 2008 Good but pricey. Taste a lot like coffee. Was I supposed to put creamer in it? Pours a deep, dark black with a beautiful mocha head that just wont die. The aroma is of creamy sweet oatmeal, cafe latte and milk chocolate. The flavor is excellent, with coffee and roasted malt notes really shining through. A creamy oatmeal flavor Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Apr 13, 2008 Pours to a luxurious chocolate brown hue topped with a creeping web of mocha lace. Aroma is all sturdy graham cracker crust and vanilla extract with bits of sweetened, old espresso and flavored milk. Sweet, but belying a body full of chunky, muscley malt character. Flavor doesn’t deliver on that suggestion, settling for mostly sweet milk, metallic cheap coffee, sugar, and sterile cherry fruitiness. Coffee tones tend to carry a soapy, overextracted quality. Hops tend to present vegetally and with bits of old citrus rinds. Non dairy graham crust peeks in again with a wink of odd, tangy sweetness in the mid palate. Palate is light to medium bodied; brittle, unsupported, loose. Cinnamon tinted oatmeal and some iron water in a lengthy, earthy finish full of minerals. Plenty of unlikeable qualities here, but none to any obscene degree. Fair enough. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Apr 10, 2008 Pours a deep, dark black with a beautiful mocha head that just wont die. The aroma is of creamy sweet oatmeal, cafe latte and milk chocolate. The flavor is excellent, with coffee and roasted malt notes really shining through. A creamy oatmeal flavor shows up late to the party, but does so in fine fashion, adding a smooth lingering sweetness to the finish. The palate is little bit light, and over-carbonated but doesn’t detract too much from the otherwise outstanding quality of this beer. Great brew, go drink one now. AWS9 (221), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Apr 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep black, with a slight dark beige head. Smells of roasted coffee, with a hint of caramel malt. Incredible hit of coffee and chocolate malts, very complex flavour that hits you on so many levels. Very smooth tasting, and the taste hits you again, impeccable aftertaste. Just might the best beer I’ve ever had so far. The only complaint think of is it’s thin bodied, that’s it. Incredible. thewolf (5623), Kolding, Denmark Apr 8, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours dark brown with a stunning coffee-brown and exceptionally creamy head. Really great duration and soft lacing. Stunning sweet aroma, lots of sweet milk chocolate, light coffee notes and mildly roasted. Some vanilla as well. Light and still a bit creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, a good chocolate note and a mild roasted bitterness. This is one hell of a stout, considering the 5 % ABV. glaze0101 (79), USA Apr 5, 2008 This is my new Favorite beer. the aroma and flavour are wonderful. drinakable, a stout that leaves you wanting another. Black with a nice tan head. not heavy. malty, roatsted. Chocolate and complet Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Apr 4, 2008 Bottle pours black with two inch mocha head. The aroma is promising to start with a pleasing mix of roasted malts, toffee, burnt malts and some oatmeal twang. The taste is bold and roasty with burnt malts, roasted malts and mild toffee. By midway the burnt malts re-double their assertiveness along side mild malt astringency. The oatmeal comes up a bit short in the flavor and the mouth feel. Still very nice offering. Turco (11), Alma, Quebec, Canada Apr 2, 2008 Updated: Jun 6, 2008A black beer with a light brown head. The aroma is chocolate, oatmeal, roasted malt, with a hint of cofee. The flavor is bitter roasted malt, with caramel and oatmeal. Quite dry finish, but very well-balanced. A solid stout
