Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Thanks Kryptic for the Bottle Poured into a pint glass jet black with a full finger of chocolate colored head that turns to a thick lace Aromas of dark roasted malts, chocolate, Oatmeal, and some coffee Medium mouth feel creamy and silky finish Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, smoke, and coffee fill the mouth A good oatmeal stout a great finish to the day wish it was a little thicker mouth feel though.

341ml bottle from alexsdad06 - thanks, Brad! Nice roasty smell, just as I remember from an earlier sample. Big and bold, and a nice rich dark color too. The flavor, however, is very prominently oaky to me. Certainly the roast and the choco malts are in there, but there’s a noticeable tart/sweet strain in there that really recalls oak barreling (and yeah, I know there’s nothing that suggests this was actually done to the beer). Just a hair too thin for my blood as well.

Bottle - 341 ml, LCBO-Summerhill - Lovely black-brown colour, like shoe polish, whispy brown head which clings to the glass all the way to the end. It has a very distinct coffee and chocolate aroma with undertones of smoke. Yes a very distinctive smokey-chocolate/espresso flavour with a sticky charred finish, very enjoyable, great recommendation from hogtownharry and will drink many times more (in fact, I have 5 more in the box!)

Bottle from miketd - thanks! Really nice black pour with a tan head. Aroma is dominated by raw coffee and chocolate with some sourness. Flavor is chocolatey, sweet, but a tad harsh. This one isn’t bad, but it appears I’m in the minority in thinking this one is kind of mediocre.

Black pour with a rich darker tan head. Aroma is silky chocolate with roast, coffee, caramel, oats. Medium to light body, but big flavors for such a small beer. Well balanced.
