Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

My favorite stout! Great stuff, I love how thick and creamy it is. Strong flavours of dark chocolate and coffee. Great in winter.

12 oz bottle. Pours a black with a nice tan head. Coffee and chocolate flavours come through on this one. Very nice mild-bitteness in the finish. This is always a must have in my fridge. Great beer, one of my favorites

Bottle BB July 2006.. extra thanks to turg! Poured a thick, oily black.. with deep brown highlights. A towering creamy caramel head and a great deal of intricate lacing were also present... just beautiful! Dark chocolate, espresso beans, mocha, and fresh oats blended for a phenomenal deep roasted nose. Flavors of bitter dark chocolate, freshly-ground coffee, and just lots of black maltage... beautifully roasted and complex, especially considering the low ABV. Smooth and perfectly dry on the palate... long roasted chocolate and coffee finish... lightly sweet. This is a most excellent brew!

One of my all time favorites. Strong chocolate, coffee, and bitter nose. Slightly more carbonated than the stouts I’m used to. Truly complex. Gives me something new every time I return to the glass. Head is a beautiful soft brown and lasts fairly well. Great for my beer nerd friends as well as random guests. What did I ever do before this stout?

poured from a 12oz. bottle into a glass mug (thanks to my buddy unitmonster from Montreal for the beer) A: pours a silky-looking, near jet black with an ample, frothy cream/tan head, beer leaves massive lacing all the way through. You know it’s going to be a good beer when you want to dive right in and take a bath in it! S: Smells like fresh-baked oatmeal cookies and roasted maple syrup. T/M: Whew! Just what I was hoping for from this beer...loads of ultra roasted bitterness that lingers forever and a day. Good baker’s chocolate flavorings mixed with dark cocoa and burnt coffee. Delicious. Classic oatmeal stout mouthfeel, good carbonation and a slick, oily finish. D: Provided you enjoy the ample bitterness, this is a beer that should always be on hand in one’s beer fridge. Great beer.

One of the darkest pours ever. Just like a dark roast coffee. Lots of light brown head. Beautiful sweet oatmeal notes with a little coffee backing it on the nose. No real bitterness on the taste. Good oatmeal balance to a great stout favor.

This pours with an unbelievable colour, blacker than Toby’s a**hole, and a proper head as well. You can just smell the malt wafting up from the glass, with a hint of coffee as well. The taste was every bit as good as it looked. Delicious.
