COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

great well rounded beer, lots of maltiness, smooth, and pour with a great head that lasts

Really a classic, with a thick deep taste unheard of at this ABV level. The Roasted malt and almost burnt maple syrup underpinning the classic stout elements of coffee and chocolate is a fabulous taste combination. Add in the thickening and sustaining capacity of the oatmeal and you have a best in show stout.

This is an oatmeal stout that delivers throughout the beverage experience. Mostly chocolate on the nose, but also hints of coffee and maybe just a little vanilla. Pours beautifully to a big puffy head that subsides at a pleasant pace. The body is amazingly light -- it just doesnít look like it should be so. The taste starts sweet but delivers just the most subtle bitter bite. And if it seems like this all just couldnít get any better, St. Ambroise (at least at my favorite beer store) is wonderfully underpriced.

"Itís funny",I only bought this because I am too jet-lagged to get to a store that sells craft beer, and I had oatmeal for the first time in 35 years-2 days ago. This is good, with a true/meaty oatmeal taste.

16 ounce can. Dark brown liquid with a dense rocky tan head. Roasted malt nose is redolent of coffee and dark cocoa. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor has more cocoa and coffee notes. Some dark fruit adds to the complexity. Full bodied and flavorful. Slightly chewy mouthfeel with a sticky finish. Very well done.

I had this beer million times. In draft and bottles. This review is for the draft/nitro version. The bottle version is also very good, but itís a completely different beer. This is my reference for stouts. A very rich yet easy to drink/ low abv beer. I Love the mouthfeel, the robust hop character and the bitterness. The best / flagship beer of the McAuslan brewery.

I actually canít believe I donít have a rating for this as it was probably the only stout I drank for a couple years. Black with a nice foamy tan head, aroma of roast and coffee. Sweet and dry with roast malt, coffee slight vanilla. Yes

thick, sweet, and chewy, the second black, bitter, and gainy, and the third a weird tart, sherry like note. Pretty complex

Nice creamy but dry aroma. Chocolate and dark malt. Thick black/Brown color with frothy dark brown head. Creamy, with a bit of chocolate and black liquorice. Dry but soothing finish. Kinda like the aroma in reverse. Nice.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle at Coyotes in Banff, Alberta. Opaque, near black with a 2-finger tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Taste of roasted coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and some dark fruit. Medium body and medium/high carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
