UPDATED: MAY 18, 2013 Pours black and semi thick. Not too much of a head. Great smell. Rich coffee taste. Hints of chocolate. Great stout!

2013/05/09 - Pours an opaque brown (cola-like) with a creamy tan head that laces nicely. Aroma is oats, coffee and slight chocolate. Taste is similar to nose, but slightly metallic with a lingering bitter cocoa aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium and oily with more carbonation than expected and a drying finish. Rich aroma. Pours a deep rich color. It has a pleasant chocolate and malt taste. The only flaw is its a little watery. I wish it was richer and a bit more complex.

A - A big bubbled mocha head sits on top of a black body. Specs of lacing left behind. S - Rich chocolate mousse, intense vanilla. Very sweet aromas. T - Bitter dark chocolate, roasted malts, much more roasty than the aroma. Slightly metallic, dry roasted oats, butter, with a touch of sour. The hops don’t seem to blend well with the rest of the flavors. Finishes dry. M - Full bodied, moderate carbonation. Wow the nose is awesome for an oat stout! The taste doesn’t quite deliver like the aroma. Something seemed to be off in the flavor which brings down drinkability. Serving type: bottle 12-23-2010

Bottle shared with northropfrye. I smell and taste a lot of oatmeal in this. There’s no sweetnesser at all, but mostly oatmeal, I’m pretty tired. I put your soup in the freeezer.

Thanks, Tommy. Finally had a chance to try this Quebec classic. Dark body with creamy brown lasting head and loads of lacing. Sweet malty dried fruit aroma. Taste is sweet raisins, grapes, oatmeal, nuts, milk chocolate. Very nice stout.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur noire et opaque. Nez de café, de chocolat noir, de malt rôti aux notes brûlées, avec des notes de mélasse douce, de houblon herbeux ainsi que des traces de réglisse noire. Moyenne-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture riche et crémeuse. Goût de chocolat noir légèrement amer avec de faibles traces fruitées et de réglisse noire dès l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût de malt rôti aux notes brûlées, de café mocha avec des notes de mélasse ainsi que quelques traces de caramel toffee et de fumée (tourbe, fumée de bois) puis une légère amertume de houblon herbeux vient compléter la gorgée. Post-goût long et très légèrement sec, léger-moyen amer de rôti, de chocolat noir, moyen de café avec des notes de houblon herbeux. (2006)

Bottle. Poured a black color with generous head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee bean, cocoa, slight vanilla. Above average carbonation. Light bitter, light sweetness. Slightly creamy texture. Pretty smooth. Little bitter through to the end. Not bad.

Smell like chocolate. Nice dark color. Taste is nice at first, but end a bit like cold coffe...

Goodness, glory be. Everyone I shared this with agreed it was the beer to behold. A creamy, pillowy head that has great retention, off-white in color. A delicious beer with lots of texture and malt, roasted complexities. Not to be missed!
