COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, - DEC 6, 2011

Bottle. Pours heavy black with some beige head. Aroma of coffee, raisins, cocoa. Taste of vanilla, raisins, malt. Thin for a stout, but I enjoyed drinking this beer.

best value stout around- no question. the pour is perfection- black body with two fingers of dense tan foam... i get so much creaminess from this beer- its like having an icecream... a tasty, roasted malt icecream

Black pour with medium sized tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, espresso and cocoa. Taste is predominately roasted malts with espresso and unsweetened chocolate coming through. Fairly dry finish with slight bitterness. Full bodied and a very long finish.

Poured from bottle that I’ve held on to for probably too long now, pours black with a thin head, aroma is sweet with a decent amount of chocolate and sweet malt, the flavor has a nice coffee front end with a sweet chocolate finish, nice thick mouthfeel, good stuff.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours black with a short 2cm of disappearing khaki head, medium lacing. Nose is espresso, oats and cocoa, mostly savoury. Taste is lots of roasted malt, touch of vanilla, soy, raisins and cocoa. Not super rich flavours, thinner body than anticipated but as far as a sessionable stout goes, this has to be up there.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2013 Pours black and semi thick. Not too much of a head. Great smell. Rich coffee taste. Hints of chocolate. Great stout!

Alpha10 (114) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 9, 2013
2013/05/09 - Pours an opaque brown (cola-like) with a creamy tan head that laces nicely. Aroma is oats, coffee and slight chocolate. Taste is similar to nose, but slightly metallic with a lingering bitter cocoa aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium and oily with more carbonation than expected and a drying finish. Good but not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich aroma. Pours a deep rich color. It has a pleasant chocolate and malt taste. The only flaw is its a little watery. I wish it was richer and a bit more complex.

A - A big bubbled mocha head sits on top of a black body. Specs of lacing left behind. S - Rich chocolate mousse, intense vanilla. Very sweet aromas. T - Bitter dark chocolate, roasted malts, much more roasty than the aroma. Slightly metallic, dry roasted oats, butter, with a touch of sour. The hops don’t seem to blend well with the rest of the flavors. Finishes dry. M - Full bodied, moderate carbonation. Wow the nose is awesome for an oat stout! The taste doesn’t quite deliver like the aroma. Something seemed to be off in the flavor which brings down drinkability. Serving type: bottle 12-23-2010
