Commercial Description:
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

12.19.04 12oz bottle thanks to my secret santa in Hamilton, ON. Deep and almost black beer looks thick and soft on the pour. The head is thick and sticky tan and lasts and laces all over the place. The aromas are incredible coffee and cream notes with hazelnut syrup that remind me of my morning coffee at 7-11. I love my morning coffee. The flavor is almost all coffee with coffee notes and coffee touches. There’s also some more hazelnut, truffle oil, chocolate coated coffee bean. The brew has just the right amount of bitterness, just the right amount of sweetness, creamy body...damn, this is some good stuff! Easily the best Oatmeal stout I’ve had. Thanks for sending two, Santa!!

Bottle thanks to Suttree. Thick pour, very large and thick, creamy brown head. Black body. Great, no, amazing lacing and very good retention. Very flowery aroma with milk chocolate, coffee, oatmeal, brown sugar, molassas, and pie crust. Smells like fresh cookies with some fresh mocha coffee. Taste is nice coffee, some chocolate and nuts, that refines over the every long (45 seconds or so) duration into hazelnuts. Good stuff. Creamy mouthfeel, but feels somewhat light boddied. Easy to drink, light carbonation.

Um....I’m gonna assume that this was a bad bottle and try again later. Super bitter and metallic. Pretty much undrinkable.

11.2oz. bottle served in a shaker pint. Poured a deep brown/black with some red highlights. Two fingers of fine bubbled tan head. Nice chocolate/roasted malt aroma. Also some fruitiness. Rich, creamy mouthfeel. Great coffee/roasted malt flavor. A bit of hop bitterness. Long dry chocolate malt finish. A solid oatmeal stout.
