tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Aug 30, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours bold copper color with lots of bubbles and beige head. The aroma is sweet and malty with some raspberry, chocolate, lime, peach, and nectarine notes. The flavor is malty and somewhat tart. It dries out with some woody, earthy, and herbal hops. There are some dusty, toasty notes in the finish. Drinkable, not outstanding. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Aug 25, 2008 Tasted 7/31/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with an amber hue. Clinging off-white head. Caramel aromas with a berry undertone. Medium bodied with caramel and estery flavors. Bitter and dry with a tingling finish. Slight oak and burnt toast flavors. Toffee malts and citrus bitterness. Graham crackers and mild cinnamon. Good palate and quite nice. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 16, 2008 Pours clear bronze with a soapy tan head. The aroma has caramel malt that is fairly dry and soapy with a hint of hops and signs of diacetyl. Medium crisp body with a good amount of bite and semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor is very similar to the aroma with some phenolic spice and some spicy hops. The hops come out a bit more on the finish. Fair at best wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Aug 16, 2008 Pretty interesting beer. Slightly different touch on the APA style. Creamy mouthfeel and full flavor. Well balanced. Some spice and hops complement the wheaty malt flavor nicely. Lightly fruity finish. Skidds (252), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 15, 2008 So far this is the best Pale Ale I have ever had. A very well crafted beer all around Highly recommended. demdeac40 (238), Etowah, North Carolina, USA Aug 14, 2008 Pours gold with a big white head. NIce nose, full of fruit and floral. Underlying sweetness that is very tempting. Nice and full in the mouth. Great malts with that nice hint of licorice. Finishes with a nice hop bitterness. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Aug 13, 2008 Drank this one out of the bottle as well while playing a game of frisbee golf horse with Lucas. Noticed a little bit of diacetyl in the nose and flavor, but luckily, it didn’t make this completely undrinkable. Flavor has some good hops and malts, but nothing the stands out too much. Drinkable, but far from memorable. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Aug 5, 2008 Pours a clear pale copper with a dense, pitted, sticky, off-white head that leaves sheets of thick lace upon the glass. The nose is of bready pale malt with supporting fruity and floral hop notes. Light to medium-bodied and creamy with a mildly dry and bitter finish; nice mouthfeel. Sweet, biscuity malt with a sour tinge leading into a fruity and floral, bitter-hopped finish. This is an interesting pale. With so many "C"-hop pales out there, this is a refreshingly different variation on the style.
