Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Courtesy of fonefan. It’s dark amber with an OK head. The aroma is fruity with notes of malt. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, caramel, fruit and a bit of spice. It’s straightforward and charming.

copper color, not much head, little tan bubbles. nose is mostly airy hops. flavor is creamy, slightly bitter. light bodied and a bit too effervescent for me. not a bad beer, pretty much inoffensive.

An amberish colour with a thin white head. Aroma is of grass/hops. Flavor is quite active, hint of citrus, caramel and nice hop finish.

Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Amber hue with frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, bread, grassy and herbal hops, hint of citrus and earthy yeast esters. The taste starts twangy with some apple flavor, grassy hops bring about a light bitterness before a medicinal finish. The mouth feel is lively yet soft, refreshing. Not all that great and needs a better hop profile IMO.

On tap at C’est What? Pours a clear reddish amber with a thin white head. Hops have a medium bitterness. I get some cherries in this. This is really good.

The aroma is malty, grassy, and yeasty in a fruity kind of way. The appearance is amber with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter finish. The palate is thin. Overall it’s pretty good but nothing special.
