Gethinbeer (997), Nova Scotia, Canada Oct 2, 2007 From bottle. Well this is now my 4th beer from this brewery which I have never heard of before. I’m glad I bought this selection pack as I have enjoyed all. Shame about the rugby. as I watch my team get destroyed by a mighty Fiji. Scent aroma with what I can only describe as fresh wood sap. Light amber colour with a decent white frothy head. Bitter ale with a subtle tang and nutty feel. Decent ale. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Sep 29, 2007 Bottled@SBWF2007. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, hoppyness and some slight hints of earth. Flavour is quite much the same with some spicyness and acidic citrus fruits. I guess that this is "Biere Blonde". Clear amber color, small white head. Light fruity malty nose. Fruity - peach and apricot are there at least. Nice pale ale, but would be better when unfiltered. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Sep 27, 2007 20-Mar-07 (341 ml bottle: Obtained 17-Jul-06 in trade with HogTownHarry, thanks Harry!) After a few mediocre Pale Ales from Canada, I’m hoping that this final one will provide a solid drinking experience. I’m impressed immediately by the gorgeous pour: a fluffy, voluminous head rises to about two inches in height, with the off-white foam taking several minutes to settle to a quarter-inch. And as it recedes, very decorative and intricate rings of lace are left on the glass. Aromas of bread malts and butter, or more simply, it smells like buttered biscuits, but nary a scent of hops though. Fortunately, when taking each sip, mildly bitter hops is very noticeable, balanced nicely by bready and minimally sweet malts. The hops fade out in the finish, leaving the flavor of buttered biscuits to stand alone. The hazy, pale golden beer feels very soft and smooth on the palate, light-medium bodied, gently carbonated and easy to drink. Makes for a nice session ale. Ringed lacing is still going strong by the time I’ve consumed the last drop. So overall, except for the uninteresting nose, this is a pretty decent pale ale: flavorful, pleasant to drink, on target with style characteristics, and pretty to look at too. matt7215 (943), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Sep 25, 2007 Updated: Oct 8, 2007341 ml bottle. poured amber with an average white head. terrific hop aromas with detectable malts also in the nose. a nice floral bouquet with a citris punch fading into sweet grass soaked in honey. great well balanced progressive flavours that are tasty without being complex. an awesome apa. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Sep 23, 2007 (Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Bottle. Golden color, quite ok white head. Malty aroma, some honey and some fruits. Malty flavor, some caramel, some bitternotes. A decent beer.
DerWeg (750), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 15, 2007 The very best ’commercial’ Pale available in Ontario - punchy hops and fruity malts, in a clean package very much to the French Canadian taste. Would be extremely fine with Tarte Lapin for example. You almost have to know Quebec food to really get some of the beers which are great accompaniment (Belle Gueulle for example.) Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 2, 2007 (Bottle 34,1 cl) Courtesy of Sammy. Clear, amber golden with a handsome, dense, off-white head leaving some laces. Aroma of malt and a whiff of metal. Medium-bodied, lightly sweetish malt with a touch of caramel and a dry, lightly hoppy finish. Solid craftmanship without being overly sophisticated. 310807
