COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery’s flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

couleur ambrée; petite mousse blanche; arômes et goût maltés et épicés; l’alcool se fait sentir alors que cette bière n’a que 5%; trop sucrée également

Visual: Pours clear salamander orange with a dissipating small head, a thin layer of micro retention, a mix of fast and slow loose streams. Nose: bright fruity orange, raspberry jam, sweet malts (lvl-6)-pungency Attack: crisp-watery, fizzy-tingly Mid-palate: short duration, (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) toasted malt, bread-grainy, Finish: soft bitter hops, malty clean but short finish. Summary: Easily drinkable but nothing much here. Very clean albeit basic malt profile with good texture. Lacks depth and character. Those nose was good, but the taste is just average.

Dorée ambrée, une pale ale pas trop commune, un peu crémeuse, une amertume présente agréable, assez goûteuse, bien équilibrée, au corps à légère onctuosité. Sympa. Bouteille 341ml achetée sur un stand québécois au marché de Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (étrange), France, bue le 18/10/2015.

Can from the grocery store. Poured into a pint glass, bright clear orange with a 1-inch off-white head that stayed around almost to the bottom of the glass. This is one of my go-to beers, always have some in the fridge, but strangely haven’t gotten around to rating it until now. Aroma right up front is unapologetically all floral hops, with a nice grainy maltiness making itself known after a few sips. Nicely bitter, but not in an over-the-top, puckering sort of way, with a mellowing earthy sweetness underneath. Medium carbonation, with a clean, bitter finish. One of the best of the macro-micro offerings from Québec, in my opinion reminiscent of some of the great Burton ales. Always deserving of a space on the shelf.

Draft in Toronto. Copper brown, great foam. Malty, clean. Nice balance. Not American in style in my book but a solid, nice ale.

Can bought at an LCBO in Toronto/Canada. Pours a copper clear color with a solid soapy white head. Aroma is mostly malt with some fruit in the back. Taste is malty, bitter fruits with a dry and balanced malt and bitter hops finish reming me of walnuts and sugaless forest fruits. This is a good beer, but I prefer the hoppy and less malty American pale ale.

Can. Pours copper with minimal head. Buttery aroma. Not a lot of flavor but some diacytel in there with minimal hop bite. It’s okay but disappointing after having their stout.

Sweet caramel and vanilla aroma. Little to no head...formed into small blotches. Colour is a copper-red. Taste of roasted malt, nut and a hint of creme brule. Sweeter ale with little carbonation. Different from most pales...and i think its great that it is.

Can from cellarbrations super store hami hill. Have a feeling this is a bad batch. Mouthfeel is quite oily. Taste is quite buttery. Aroma is on the sweeter side.
