Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Four pack from Horrock’s Farm Market in Battle Creek. Deep amber pour with a hoppy citrus fruity aroma - notable lack of sweet grains in the smell. Crisp, freshing flavor - rich, complex, fruits, hops, citrus, and confiers. Solid malt body but not cloying and sweet. Reminds me of Fat Tire, which I mean as a compliment of the first order. Gude ale!

It had been a while since I had this one but at 7,99$ for 6... Pleasant hoppy aroma and a much hoppier beer than what I remembered, leaving a salty and spicy mouthfeel. Pretty dry and long aftertaste. All in all, pretty bitter and better than what I remembered. Even at 11$ for 6, it is one of the best value brew available in Quebec.

11.5oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. Slightly cloudy amber pour, with some prickly carb and a minimal head. Vibrantly hoppy aroma, with some sweet fruits and a chewy bready scent too. Full bodied, with a long finish. But it’s the flavor that fall somewhat short of the mark to me. It can’t seem to make up its mind whether it wants to be a clean APA or a mildly fruity Belgian ale. It doesn’t really convince as either, but is still quite drinkable.

This beer is the color of the dachshund dog across the street. It is lightly cloudy with a one finger beige head that soon becomes blotchy. Some decent floral hops and sweet caramel in the nose. It is also bready and spicy. Lots of rye and caramel in the beginning. Hops are in the background and adds bitterness along with floral notes. Spice appears soon before mid glass. Hops also show up but never in force. They are floral and pine with some citrus. Malt dominates but hops make it interesting.

Bottle. Golden with a two inch, thick, yeasty head. Bready aroma with caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly thin. There is lots of grass and pine in the hops; I taste some more caramel and grain. Finish is relatively short and slightly bitter.

Bottle. Clear and golden with a little coppery tinge. Nice creamy head. Some nice mild hop aroma. Malt is nice and mildly sweet. Hops have a fair bit of bite for a Pale. I like this beer.

Cloudy clay color with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of dark caramel malt and yeast. Taste is bitter with a bit of creamy maltiness in the finish. Palate is on the grainy side.
