Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Bubblegum and cilantro on the nose, pleasant sweet caramel flavour with good citrus hop bite, has a strong elderflower and feijoa flavour that reminds me of Badger Tanglefoot

On tap at The Beer Bistro in Toronto. Biscuity is a good word to describe this. Nice beer. Was a bit full by the time this rolled around. Woudl like to try it again.

Really biscuity, hops give lychee and citrus, really well made pale ale.

Cobber of color with a beige head. A nice aroma with grape, citrus and notes of sweet malt. A flavor of citrus, pines, fresh grass, grape. A dry finish.

Une très bonne bière pour l’été, un côté malté et caramel fort intéressant et un profil des houblons quand même pas trop mal pour une bière commerciale. Ce n’est pas une grande bière de dégustation, mais une bonne petite pale ale de tout les jours.

This is the beer that kick-started the McAuslan brewery, is owner Peter McAuslan’s labor of love, and has been surprisingly consistent from its inception roughly two decades ago. A true IPA, this beer is only closely rivaled by Bass and some other great British beers. Bitter, with few to no residual esters, this beer goes down smooth and seems to always fit the season. Whether it be a hot summer day when a cool refreshing beer is demanded, to a cold blustery winter horror, St. Ambroise Pale Ale always seems to suit the mood and occasion. Even as a beer lover who prefers Pilseners to ales, this beer is a standout.

341 mL bottle. Pours an amber with weak head. Aroma is of bitter hops. Taste has a surprising fruitiness, with a bitter bready finish. Overall, pretty nice, standard beer.
