Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Bottle. Amber, champagne bubbles, foamy lacing golden head. Nice honeyish malt overlaid with a subtle hop-profile. Cracker malt, honey, preserved apricots and restrained flowery hop flavor. Good chewy body, creamy mouthfeel. Now this is a pale ale!

Thanks to Hogtown Harry for this one. The pour is dark straw with a 2-finger, off-white head. The aroma is caramel malty, with some honey, apricot, and pale malty honey. The taste was pale malty, with some crisp honey notes coupled with mild hops.

Bottle from Paul (blankboy) Thanks! Pours out yellow brown color, nice head that lasts to the end of it. Taste is rich and smooth, slightly hoppy, perhaps not as hoppy as I was expecting, but tonight I was not in an over the top hop mood, so this one went very nice. Smooth and dangerously drinkable, certainly worth trying whenever found. Really good APA.

Bottle. Poured an amber color with a small off white head that quickly diminished. Initial aroma was very floral. As it warmed the aroma went to sweet malts, caramel, and dark fruits. The flavor was of dark fruits, sweet, and hints of hops. Slight caramel and dark chocolate aftertaste. Medium body and smooth. Enjoyable!

Bottle. Pours a light amber with a decent, albeit, a short lived head. Light hops on the nice, not a very strong aroma. Fruit (apricot) and a smidge of hops. A pleasent enough brew, improving as it warmed. Thanks to Blankboy for the bottle.

A friend brought this out from Toronto. Poured into a mug. Color is dark orange, can see through the beer. Aroma is strong, could smell it as I poured the beer. Taste is not strong however but pleasant. Smooth beer, not much aftertaste. Middle of the road Pale.

Decent, floral aroma, hops are very present initially and then slowly melds into a nutty earthy tree bark malt character. Some fruit is also present in the flavor, and has a nice clean flavor. I just wish it was a little bigger, but very well done.

Pours light bronze with quarter inch white head. Aroma is light floral hops. Taste is sweet hops with a sour aftertaste. Smooth, long lasting taste. Could use a bit more punch, but overall good.
