Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Ok this is my second Canadian "American Pale" provided by HogTownHarry and I’m really starting to think they’ve got it going on up in Canada. This one is just as good...maybe better than the previous. Very West coast American attitude in this brew, with a little taste of an english style thrown in too. Aroma was finished with floral hops and taste was very nice straight up piney hops and some very slight citrus hop notes. Man they nailed this one. I’ve got to head to quebec now and get a few more of these :)

Clear copper with a fluffy honey colored head. Has some strange little floaters. Fruity, hoppy, buttery aroma. Clean, lightly buttery flavor with some pear and spicy hops. Very well balanced and easy to drink. Strikes me as more of a British Pale Ale.

341 ml bottle. Pours a deep golden amber with a moderate foamy head that lasted through most of the glass. Light, grassy aroma. Initial flavor is fruity and slightly sweet. An excessive dry mouthfeel then kicks in, which I think robs this brew of some of its flavor.

Bottle Qu’ est que ce? The beer pours amber golden with a smallish head. Aroam is non-descript maybe a touch fruity. Flavor is fairly watery, not much substance. It is not quite clear what dominates here, but contary to some other rates I did not have the feeling that it was carbonated too much or too dry. However something was missing.

The lasting impression I get from this beer is that is a little bit too sweet. I agree with previous poster that this beer is too carbonated and dry for the mouth, so the palate feels deprived after taking a swing of this. The flavor is pretty good, but it is a shame that the initial taste only lasts for a moment, then disappears. Some hops comes through to mask the sweetness as the beer warms up, but there are definitely some holes in this brew. After a while this start to grow on you, so maybe these guys know what they are doing after all.

Pours a carmel gold with a big white head. Smells a bit creamy and malty...some acidity aswell. Flavor is fairly malty and a bit citrusy sweet...some decent hop bitterness to round out the end of it. Mouthfeel is very carbonated and dry.

Très bonne bonne ale à la fois légère et amère. Un arome de céréal frais et un petit goût de fruit.

Dark honey amber with sticky-thick head. Malty flavour with some hop dryness on the finish. After a few ounces it kind of reminds me of an English ESB.
