3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This poured a clear amber color with a white, fluffy head into a pint glass. The aroma is hoppy, fruity with a slight touch of leather in the background. The flavors are slightly citric, hoppy with a definite bite on the tongue. This pale ale would pair well with oily food or shellfish, IMO. Overall, this is an enjoyable Pale ale.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2006 Bright copper-amber colour. Caramel malts and woody hops feature in the aroma. Moderate bitterness but little hop character to match. There is also quite a bit of caramelly, slightly toasty/earthy malt sweetness. The finish is more of the same - a pleasurable bitterness but too much caramelly malts for my taste. Well-made brew but pretty far from my ideal pale.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Flowery hop aroma. Clear amber colour with two-finger white head that receeds to a film with lacing throughout. Wonderful hop flavours with a nice malt character to back it up and some fruitiness. Definitely balanced on the hoppy side with plenty of lasting bitterness. Medium-light body - a good refresher or an excellent session beer. Bottle.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2009 Re-rate: Still noticeable hops, a bit of pine and noticeable woodiness but a big metallic edge as well. A little thin.
Original Oct 2003. 7/4/8/4/15 Pleasant but not overpowering light pine hop aroma. Golden amber with a light film/head. Creamy thick body. Balanced malt/hop flavour with light finishing bitterness. Indeed it is tasty all the way through.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Best by 11/03. Classic APA color. This sample tastes a little old; slight metallic taste. Very sweet. Slight bitter character. An average American Pale Ale at best.
