Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Sampled on 11/12/08. This Pale Ale pours a deep copper color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel and fruity, with some floral and spicy hops. A medium bodied Pale Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet, with a strong fruity character. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. The fruitiness is well balanced by the hops bitterness. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Ne vous fiez pas au nom français; ce n’ est pas une blonde mais bien une pale ale. De couleur cuivrée tirant sur le rouge. Tres houblonnée, pleine de gout. Pas une coche au dessus mais en vaut pleinement la dégustation.

Pours a translucent copper gold with an offwhite quickly dissipating head. The nose was herbal and earthy, sweet caramel malt, diacetyl, english feel. The flavor is similar, earthy herbal english hops, mild bitterness, earthy, caramel malt. Mild herbal bitterness to the palate.

Amber beer with almost no head. No lacing either. Sharp hop bitterness and a metallic finish. Like eating some random garden flowers. Well not that bad. But it is a bit harsh. Not interested in anymore of this stuff.
