Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

amber pour with small white head...aroma is grassy and spicey, with hints of citrus and little malt..touches of sugar..flavor is very similar, and finishes quite bitter...has hints of caramel as well

Bottle, tried in beer tasting. Pours a copper color with a medium head. Perhaps a little dark for a pale ale . . . Nice floral, hoppy aroma. Flavor was very well balanced, a mixture of flowery hops with a rich malty backing and some smoke. Just a well brewed pale ale. If I could grab a sixer of this for session drinking, I would in a heartbeat.

translucent copper body, about moderate lacing, somewhat thick and soapy white head; mostly earthy, medium floral, medium apple, light grapefruit, light peanut, light caramel; easy, good.

Clear golden copper color with a thin white head that quickly settles to a cover. Sweet and caramelly, apricot and peach aromas. More fruity apricot flavors and a dry finish with some lingering grapefruit hop bitterness. Nice pale ale.

Clear copper pour. Fizzy beige head. Hops on the nose. Hoppy flavor with a decent malt backbone.

Sampled at Barb’s Beer Emporium in Concord, N.H. Pours a slightly copper color but not as cloudy as most blondes. Beige head fades quickly. Hops on the nose. Very hoppy flavor but also a little sweet.
