Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Clear amber. Small white head. Pale malt and lightly fruity hops. Light graham cracker towards finish. That’s it. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Very quaffable, but unimpressive.

Tasted 7/31/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with an amber hue. Clinging off-white head. Caramel aromas with a berry undertone. Medium bodied with caramel and estery flavors. Bitter and dry with a tingling finish. Slight oak and burnt toast flavors. Toffee malts and citrus bitterness. Graham crackers and mild cinnamon. Good palate and quite nice.

Pours clear bronze with a soapy tan head. The aroma has caramel malt that is fairly dry and soapy with a hint of hops and signs of diacetyl. Medium crisp body with a good amount of bite and semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor is very similar to the aroma with some phenolic spice and some spicy hops. The hops come out a bit more on the finish. Fair at best

Pretty interesting beer. Slightly different touch on the APA style. Creamy mouthfeel and full flavor. Well balanced. Some spice and hops complement the wheaty malt flavor nicely. Lightly fruity finish.

Pours gold with a big white head. NIce nose, full of fruit and floral. Underlying sweetness that is very tempting. Nice and full in the mouth. Great malts with that nice hint of licorice. Finishes with a nice hop bitterness.
