Commercial Description:
St-Ambroise Pale Ale is the brewery's flagship beer. Introduced in February 1989, it is a hoppy, amber, full-flavoured ale. In The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide To Beer , beer critic Michael Jackson gave it three stars and described it as: "An outstanding ale... amber-red, clean and appetizing, with a very good hop character, from its bouquet to its long finish. Hoppy, fruity, and tasty all the way through."

Bottle. Poured an amber color with a small off white head that quickly diminished. Initial aroma was very floral. As it warmed the aroma went to sweet malts, caramel, and dark fruits. The flavor was of dark fruits, sweet, and hints of hops. Slight caramel and dark chocolate aftertaste. Medium body and smooth. Enjoyable!

Amber pour with a small white head. Subtle malt nose with a dash of hops and some biscuity yeast. Flavor is lightly bitter hops over a nice caramel malt backbone. Good.

copper color, not much head, little tan bubbles. nose is mostly airy hops. flavor is creamy, slightly bitter. light bodied and a bit too effervescent for me. not a bad beer, pretty much inoffensive.

(340 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) Pretty bland...Pours clear amber with about three fingers of biege head, kind of frothy and foamy. Aroma of caramel, vanilla and hops. Mouthfeel lightly prickly, fairly smooth except for some light pebbliness. Pretty heavy sheets and patches of lacing. Flavor is blander than aroma, a little bit of malt but it just seems muted. Some bitterness overlays and carries through finish. Light bitter aftertaste. Sort of a letdown compared to the Oatmeal Stout.

Deep golden amber colour with a thick frothy off-white head. Lots of spice, cloves, and toffee in the aroma. Flavour is less complex, with hints of spice and toffee, and a deep bitter finish. Medium to full body and very smooth.

Excellent beer. Very amber in colour with a gold head. With a fine lingering bitter aftertaste. Will buy this beer again.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a creamy white head. Aroma and flavour of sweet malt, caramel and fruity hops. Good carbonation. OK bitterness. A dull finish and slightly dry. It’s refreshing on a hot day.
