Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Jun 1, 2007 Really biscuity, hops give lychee and citrus, really well made pale ale.
davidm (125), Melbourne, Australia Oct 31, 2009 Bottle. Very good APA. Aroma is citrusy, and it has also grass and caramel. Long-lasting and bitter flavour. Oily in the palate, medium body. Amber colour, and a fizzy white head. decimator (41), Ontario, Canada Oct 31, 2009 341ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Poured a clear copper colour with a thick creamy 1.25" head. The foam was long lasting, left a 1/8" cap and the lacing was pretty good. Overall it looked pretty damn good. Smells delicious. Aroma of bread, toasted cereals, herbs and hops. For the flavour the hops hit pretty quick. Also caramel and a hint of toasts and some mild tangy fruits are also present. I found the balance was just a tad off (not sweet enough maybe?) but it wasn’t bad. Good carbonation and smooth with dry finish. Even felt a bit heavy. I could drink a couple but not too many. Bière blonde? Not what I was expecting but still it was a good brew. JulienHuxley (165), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada Sep 23, 2009 On tap. dark amber pour with creamy head that is fairly persistent. Aroma is malty and fruity (peach) with some hop presence. Taste is very interesting, quite malty fruity good caramel and a long bitter finish. Mouthfeel is average, low carbonation. Excellent pub beer. ILduce (133), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 20, 2009 500ml bottle from LCBO: Golden-amber colour with persistent creamy head and nice lacing. malty, somewhat fruity aroma. Taste is far bolder with malt, spice, earth, and a long bitterness. Medium bodied. Plenty of character without being too flashy. Onslow (174), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Sep 14, 2009 Four pack from Horrock’s Farm Market in Battle Creek. Deep amber pour with a hoppy citrus fruity aroma - notable lack of sweet grains in the smell. Crisp, freshing flavor - rich, complex, fruits, hops, citrus, and confiers. Solid malt body but not cloying and sweet. Reminds me of Fat Tire, which I mean as a compliment of the first order. Gude ale! bedainedebiere (274), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada Sep 1, 2009 It had been a while since I had this one but at 7,99$ for 6... Pleasant hoppy aroma and a much hoppier beer than what I remembered, leaving a salty and spicy mouthfeel. Pretty dry and long aftertaste. All in all, pretty bitter and better than what I remembered. Even at 11$ for 6, it is one of the best value brew available in Quebec. JCB (1711), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 29, 2009 11.5oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. Slightly cloudy amber pour, with some prickly carb and a minimal head. Vibrantly hoppy aroma, with some sweet fruits and a chewy bready scent too. Full bodied, with a long finish. But it’s the flavor that fall somewhat short of the mark to me. It can’t seem to make up its mind whether it wants to be a clean APA or a mildly fruity Belgian ale. It doesn’t really convince as either, but is still quite drinkable.
