Nuffield (2718), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Feb 28, 2006 2001 vintage. I got the very hazy bottom of the bottle--lucky me! Raisins, brown sugar, wood, and lots of sweetness, laced with that familiar flavor of a vintage beer. A little sharp on the edge, but not super thick of palate. Really solid, though I didn’t rave about this as others did this night. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Feb 26, 2006 Bottle. Beautiful brown sugar, cookie dough, tobacco nose. Tawny brown body with almost no head, just spotty islands of bubbles. Taste-earthy, cereal, roasted marshmallow, brown sugar like sweetness. turg (156), Quebec, Canada Jan 30, 2006 Bottle 341 ml. Appearance: Poured hazy dark orange with short white head. Aroma: dark malt, fruity, caramel. Flavor: caramel, spicy, malt. Semi-sweet finish. Wow rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada Jan 18, 2006 2001 vintage ale, with a dark mahogany color, with a tan-colored head, but falls quickly, forming a ring in the glass. The nose is one of sweet caramelized malt, strong butterscotch note, fruity accent, roasted malt, and a toffeeish touch in the aroma, follows through on a smooth full-bodied palate, with a rich sweet caramelized malt charecter, mellow texture, note of chocolatey pralines, and candied fruits, even a hint of rum flavor, with a toffeeish accent, leading towards a sweet malty and warming alcohol finish.
