Jun 29, 2009 2007 Vintage poured into a snifter. Peachy amber pour with small head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, fruity esters and some dark fruits. Slight boozy feel as well. Flavor is sweet with some toasty malt and a grapefruit hop backbone. Palate is full with caressing carbonation and a semi-dry finish. Perhaps a bit over hopped for the style, taking away from the complexities and powers of the malt profile.

Jun 27, 2009 Oxidation, slightly, caramel malt, dull, earthy hops, and really clean.
Taste is caramel, cardboard oxidation, dull hops, clean as hell, citrus hoppiness.
Appearance is clear, clear, clear, with amber waves of grain; or something.
Finish is slightly cloying, dull hoppiness.
This is not that complex.
Good flavors, and did I mention this is clean?
Simple, but good.

Jun 14, 2009 2009 vintage. Clear orangey amber body with decent head on the pour but didnt last long. Noticeable alcohol on the nose along with some notes of dark fruits. Taste is similar, though seems fairly light, alcohol is not so much of a statement.

May 31, 2009 Slightly off white good frothy head lovely looking beer ruby red colour good carbonation.Aroma dark fruits port wine and brandy,figs raisin toffee banana.Flavour dried fruit raisin lots of fizz to the palate,brandy port wine toffee lovely rich bitter,figs banana,malty tastes at their best,a creaminess,caramel note,sweetness of malt solid,beer warms the body and has a slight woodyness on the palate,finish malt sweetness hop bitter creamy fizz so lasting excellent.

May 29, 2009 2008 Edition. Plenty of apricots and good hop presence. Surprisngly good mouthfeel for a vintage ale. Just never really stood out to me. Pleasant but not exceptional.

Apr 21, 2009 2007 Vintage brought back from Montreal. Pours a gorgeous apricot color with a white head. Smells predominatly of sherry. Starts hot on the palate, but red grapes, caramel, and the suprising flavor of grape skittles comes to the rescue. Quite a sleeper.

Apr 21, 2009 Bottle from Lt. Butler. Very nice sleeper beer. Nose of barrel, sweet baked goods, sherry. Flavor is the same plus brighter fruit and the tongue happiness of champagne. Color is a nice red brown. A surprising hit.

Apr 19, 2009 341 mL Bottle. Hazy amber body with a small but tenacious head leaving good lacing. Aroma of caramel, alcohol (and rightly so with that 9.8 octane), and innuendos of banana, mango, and apricot. The flavor is intense but smooth; an acquired taste. Smooth malt with an accent of cotton candy and a noticeable alcohol expression; wine-like but with a creamy mouth feel and a hop bitter aftertaste followed by a bitter-nutty finish.
