elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA Nov 20, 2008 11/9/08 notes: bottle, 2007, from Rahman in Montreal. You know, I think I may have figured out MacAuslan. All their beers have an incredible brightness in flavor, and that’s the best I can describe it. No matter the style, they manage a crisp, flavorful, bold taste that is unique. Try it yourself! This characterizes their oatmeal stout, pale ale, apricot, and now even their 2 year-old vintage ale. Some may disagree, but I find this characteristic quite appealing. This beer poured light orange, with a tight head. Quite picturesque! Aroma of hops, ripe cherries, apricot, and nectarine, and some caramel. Flavor was smooth, yet the body was not weighty. This was just a tasty brew, and the age really contributed to the masking of the alcohol, as well as the blending of the fruit. A success by MacAuslan. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Nov 1, 2008 Poursr an amber color. Aroma is slightly grassy, caramel, and light hop bouquet. Taste is caramel, light hops, alcohol and cognac.
