Fat, caramel aroma with a tart edge. Fairly full-bodied with notes of overripe apricots. Sweet caramel malts and sherry like accents. Perhaps somewhat oxidized. 290806 Earlier Rating: 8/15/2005 Total Score: 3.4 (Bottle 34,1 cl) Vintage 2001. Hazy, amber golden with a nice, beige head. Aromas of sweetish malt and hops - lovely aromatic, hoppy nose. Sweetish and quite alcoholic with loads od sweet caramel. 120805 Oakes (6784), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jan 6, 2002 Hazy reddish-amber w/thich head; chewy, rich aroma with tons of malt, mint, leafy hops, peaches, alcohol. Flavour is rich, peachy, malty, perhaps a little bit more balance in the finish that last year’s (dryness contributed equally by woody-tasting hops and alcohol). This is kind of strange - like last year’s, it could do with some cellar age, but despite being even stronger, it is a little better balanced. Earlier Rating: 12/8/2000 Total Score: 2.8 Peachy colour; heavy malt nose. Chewy-tasting, maybe a bit earthy, but very sweet and kind of cloying. Put it in the cellar for five years, cause it just ain’t ready yet. joergen (6141), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 17, 2005 Updated: Nov 12, 2007Bottle, tahnks to MPA for sharing.
